Huh, I'm not too sure about that...especially based on the fact that we all tend to see everything about life and especially movies differently...I would still enjoy watching a movie not solely based on people's analysis on it.

In Games Women Play, there was an actual game and ONE man was the pawn in the game but this movie just was full of endless turns that led to no where and this is evident in the ending...it was a big old music video because they didn't know how to bring the movie to a cohesive end. The rape story was a movie in and of itsef. It was a reach...what SANE man pays his friend to rape his wife so he can avoid the embarassment of infertility? I mean, to seduce his wife - that I understand but to rape? Rape conjurs up such violence in the mind that to use it so lightly just to move a story or create a plot is a shame. I didn't learn any lesson. The film has no central theme or lesson. Each vignette wasn't captivating except for Taiwo (J.I) and Toyin (U.B)

You are right about the rape scene and it's place in the movie.I thought too that it was the weakest part of the script.Infact, that part of the script should have been completely rewritten or at best deleted. It nearly ruined the movie.

It's no big deal.It isn't actually.Just that you get to watch a bit closely than you normally would- while still enjoying the movie. You can do both.At least that's what i do,regardless of whether it is a Nigerian or American movie.

I love "Citizen Kane." It's one of my favorites. But nothing beats "Casablanca" for me.I can watch it 10 times a day and not get bored.I am so in love with that movie that i can recite the lines by heart. In fact, you are making me feel for some "Casablanca" today.

Only if i can skip my test today..............

Your test is real, o...the film will be there when you get home: Bogie, Ingrid, Claude, Sam= It is one of those movies that stays with you...Nollywood scripts are yet to produce quotable lines.

Yeah,we have a long way to go.There is hope though,so long as people keep buying these movies with their hard-earned money and the real filmmakers get at least half of or even a quarter of that revenue.

BlackButterfly,
You are rough, although I enjoy your hard-nosed reviews. I am sure Emem will find it useful - I hope. I was not impressed with Monalisa's performance. She was better in Girls in the Hood, and another movie when she was a lawyer.

I totally agree. I actually was digging her in that movie but she's been a disappointment since then, to me personally. The same poise and calm she had in Girls In The Hood is what she should have brought to this role. She should have maintained it until she gets insulted by Ini Edo at her man's house then loses her poise until Frank comes along and makes her realize that Richmond (Virginia) is a no good cad. Her character didn't take any journey at all...no rise, no fall...just monotone.

That short guy.. I cant remember his name was ANNOYING AS HELL. I almost went into the TV to throw him out the HUMMER.. I did not like the story line at all. I was really confused as to whether or not Bob Manuel's character actually paid that guy who could not act for **** to rape his wife... And then what was that UGLY WIG the judges and the lawyers where wearing.. I was so irritated by it.. And the movie was PART 1, 2 and 3.. It could have all been one part... I am sorry I could not bear it...

I know Nigeria has good courts because if that classroom is the kind of court system we have.. we are doomed in that country..

The wig is part of our judicial attire in Nigeria, a left over relic from the British. It's appearance in the film was actually authentic. You are right, the movie could have been condensed into ONE and not all those several parts. The short guy is Chinedu Ihidieze who is part of the duo Aki & Paw-Paw. If you were annoyed then he did his job because his character was supposed to be this annoying, egomanaical peepsqueak. I thought it was hilarious

Yeah, the ending was pretty bad.The choreography wasn't anything to write home about either. Nevertheless,i think the movie was more watchable and entertaining than most of what came out this year.
I'm not throwing my own in the trash just yet.At least,it deserves one more watch.
I understand your frustration though--Nollywood has gotten progressively worse over the last year.
