Ok I just finished watching the film first of all it was a good storyline but the editing was poor...so poor it was so evident! there was a back to back scene that had me thinking the editor dragged a scene in to the wrong place (one was to go before the other).
The plot was simple they had the flow but they dragged it on until i couldnt take anymore did you see the ending? even the part where they rolled the dude out to identify the killer! and next thing you know its the mother...what were they rushing for?
Ive seen this problem in Nollywood films, they start of with a promising storyline and then after part 2 its like zig zag we dont have the patience we had back then for movies! Me i want to start a film and be glued to the end!
The Acting? Nothing different still the same shouting to prove a point.,.but the humor was refreshing the stammerer the gateman and that lady from london
In all a rather long and draggy but a good storyline genevieve for me wasnt the higlight role of this movie for me oscar would go to the mother...good diction but slow to react it was like watching her in slow motion.
Overall 6/10 Nothing can give me back the time i spent watching this long ass boring movie...
Sorry if i didnt chirp along with the choir..besides i like being the opposite!

Alright Dizzle, I am glad I did not read your review before watching the movie. I would have lost an opportunity to be surprised. Please do not reveal the resolution of a movie when you review it, it ruins the movie for anyone who has not seen it. Thankies.
Having said that, I liked it. Or let me be more accurate, I loved parts of it. When the movie started with the usual mummy, daddy, marry, don't marry thing, I zoned out. Totally. Then Muna enters the picture. The conversations in pidgin with his friend was so natural. "I go Kpai! Delete!" I laughed. It was engaging. It was attention grabbing. I was hooked. Genny was great as usual, but her upper class lady thing is getting a little old, so I found Muna's character to be very refreshing. His scenes with his friend ( who is that guy, I likey) were by far the best in the entire movie.
I also loved the fact that Muna's role was so realistic. There was no attempt to sanitize the character or make him any more altruistic than necessary. The guy was looking out for number one, pure and simple. For once, there was no "I yam in luff" rubbish, at least not on his part!!
I fell in love with the movie after that, and it caught my attention, until they brought that weird detective back. Ruined the potential greatness of this story. I guess I empathized because I know someone in that same situation - with a husband in a wheelchair. She has chosen to be strong and do the right thing, standing by her husband, but by no means is it easy. It is a deep subject matter that this movie attempts to tackle. I nearly wept when that fake detective returned, my disappointment was so palpable. It was also weird the way they tried to fake the audience out as to who the real person who carried out the crime was. That was a return to the illogicality that drives me nuts about naija movies. However, in general, I enjoyed it. There were some attempts at ( and some success) at witty conversation. Muna is actually a great leading man. He was good in this one. He most certainly stole the show.
I recommend it.
Rating: 7/10
It would have been higher if not for the rushed messed up ending. There was a resolution without resolution. Unless of course there is a part 3/4 coming up. Then I would be REALLY disappointed. I might still watch it though!

I am begining to appreciate reading your reviews Funmo....but I do miss BB...the trick to the movie reviews on NR is not to read the entire thread until you are done watching the movie....just concentrate on what the story is about and it is mostly in the first to five responses and then you come back later....i enjoyed watching the movie too and I strongly doubt that there is a part three or four.

i was fast fwding to Muna's part. The britico detective girl just got on my last nerves. The movie could have done away with at least an hour. Too long.....many snooze worthy parts. Genny sis in it was pretty but a stilted actress. Loved Genny's outfits but her acting didn't engage me, almost as if the movie bored her too.
Muna...Muna....Muna this is my new leading 9ja actor. Rewatched 'HE LIVES IN ME' again. THE PART 2 WAS CRAP (Just a recap of part 1) but the part 1 was really something. The only 9ja movie apart from 'Keeping faith' that had very toe curling, butterfly in d stomach romantic scenes and true chemistry. I wish Ego Boyo made 'He lives in me' cos she would have tightened d story. Cast Genny's mom better instead of that cringe worthy actress with scary wigs and off makeup... I digress.
BTW 4 Indian movie lovers, the chemistry btw Muna and Genny reminds me of SRK and KAJOL....
In all I give Faithful Betrayer 4/10
