    Benin goalkeeper killed

    Benin Under-20 goalkeeper Yessoufou Samiou, who was beaten three times by the Flying Eagles, died on Monday after he was attacked by an angry fan.

    CAF director of Communications, Sulaiman Habuba, confirmed to KICK OFF the death of the player.

    It is believed that the goalkeeper may have been attacked after the host nation lost by three unreplied goals to Nigeria on the opening day of the African Youth Championship.

    Local fans had told KICK OFF they were not surprised by their loss to the highly fancied Nigerians, but they were annoyed by the big scoreline.

    This is Benin's first experience of hosting a competition of this magnitude.

    Ah, they killed him, isnt him their best? When they kill him now, who will be next goal keeper? another basket? more goals for whoever plays them.

    If they are really angry they should have go and kill their coach or whoever put the boy there.

    If this case come to my court I will dish out the judgement the way they did for the boy. Since the boy could made it to be the best in the country and they couldnt, that means they will perform worse than the boy they killed. And since they think the best could die, they themselves will have to see death because they cant do as much as the person they killed.

    This is a babaric act It is only a game for Gods sake Why kill over a game This story remind me of Ude Sadam Hussein son .May the boy soul rest in peace .These fanatics know that Nigeria is not their mate in the game. God have mercy on these heartless race

    The death was not even related to the 0-3 loss to Nigeria. The goalkeeper had two expensive mobile phones which the robbers targeted to steal. The guy was fatally stabbed upon his resistance. Too bad. Some arrests have been made, however.
