I think this award should have gone to Samuel Etoo. Okocha deserved it (BBC's African footballer of the year award) last year and he should also have won the CAF award for the African Footballer of the year (last year). But this year, I believe Samuel Etoo has been the best African footballer and he should have won that award. Maybe the BBC gave the award to Okocha because he plays in the English Premier League.

Okocha deserved the award last year(even the caf award). He deserved it this year also, but shame on CAF for robbing him of his priviledge. Anyway congratulations to the magician.

No he(Okocha ) doesn't deserve it this year. Samuel Etoo has been the best African footballer in Europe all season. As much as I like Okocha, I must admit that Etoo's performances for Barcelona have been absolutely superb. Even Drogba has performed better than Okocha this season in the English Premier League.

I think Okocha has been an outstanding sports man and deserves to be rewarded. Those days at 'Eintracht Frankfurt' it was awesome. I wish him all the best.

    Kudos to BBC!

He was robbed of the CAF award. Last year CAF told us they award was given based on their perfomances the previous year and not based on the Nations cup. This year they turn around and tell us that the award would be based on thier perfomance this year. what the heck? CAF has lost thier credibilty.
