It is a known fact that actors make far better directors than the socalled directors.
I have seen movies made by actors like Zack Orji(Web) and Jake Aernan(The Chosen One) to name a few to back this up.Even in Hollywood,this is the case(Clint Eastwood,Mel Gibson,Sean Penn)
What do you guys think?
Would you like to see more actors producing and directing their own movies as quality guarantee?

i guess actors make better directors cus they're the ones in the movie, they get the feel the inside of the movie...anyways yes i would like to see more actors/actresses directing their own movies

abeg i agree with oga Sola can you imagine someone like hmm how do i say this without insulting the actor? anyway can you imagine a no acting person trying to direct wetin im wnat direct? when im sef no sabi jack shiznit bout acting

Didn't say anything about it NOT being possible. I only disagree that it is automatic. Some actors make good directors. Many are just going to make worse movies than non-actors. Directing has nothing to do with you being an actor. Actors just need to create individuals - false characters that appear real. Directors create worlds, false universes that appear real. An actor arranges in his head the gestures and traits and little quirks he uses to invent a role. A director moves planets, forests, cities, crowds to invent his world. The director's head and imagination has to be larger. His scope and vision have to go further than merely creating one person. It is a special talent because even as he creates worlds, he is also managing money, men and manpower - while an actor simply faces the realization of one piece of the puzzle.

But some actors may have what it takes. Most don't.

Real gifted directors hardly want to be actors. They have an imagination that is way too large to remain at that level. They are control freaks.

A screenwriter is more likely to have what it takes to become a director though...

Some do and they've proven it.Antar Laniyan is another example.They have better feel and touch for quality.This is especially true when they also produce their own movies along with directing it.
None of that "i-don't-want-my-money-tied-down" mentality that is responsible for the making of so many bad movies in naija today.The actors understand very well that a good movie needs time and patience to come out right.

Not all actors are gifted with the ability to direct,but the ones that do have,excel in it.
Rhamsey Noah has said in his interview with area fada that he will produce his own movie sometime in the future.We wait to see how good it will be.Something tells me that it will be good.
