Following her highly revealing dressing at the recently concluded Nigerian Music Award (NMA), star actress Eucharia Anunobi, seems to have incured the anger of some bigwigs in the industry, of particular note is Chief Ifeanyi Dike, Chairman Board of trustee, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

Ifeanyi Dike in an interview with an evening paper based in Lagos, described Eucharia’s mode of dressing at NMA in Imo State as embarrassing. In his words, ‘Nollywood is not a platform for nasty acts. Millions of people are looking up to us as role models and we are not going to let them down.

What Eucharia did at the NMA was an embarrassment to the industry and I see no reason for her to do that. Besides, the event was for musicians, not for actors. So, if I may ask, what was her business there? Dike added that since one of the paramount aims of the Ejike Asiegbu-led AGN is to uphold discipline, erring members will not be spared.

But Ejike Asiegbu, president of the AGN told us on phone Thursday morning that the executive is yet to take a decision on the matter. He, however, states that Eucharia is an adult and she has the right to choose wear whatever she chooses.

‘The national executives have not met on the issue. Once we meet and pass a resolution, I will inform members of the press, so I won’t be able to comment on that now.’ When pressed further as regarding Dike’s comment, he said the matter is an internal one. ‘This is an internal issue, Eucharia Anunobi is an adult, she has the right to dress the way she likes.

She knows what is right from what is wrong, I wouldn’t teach her how to dress. If at this stage she doesn’t know how to dress, it is most unfortunate. If you want an official response from us, you have to wait till the executives take a decision.’

Eucharia, on her part, said both men are his friends so she wouldn’t want to react to something she was yet to have full knowledge of. In her words, ‘Ifeanyi is my friend and I have not heard from him (as regards this issue). I wouldn’t want to say anything because these are my friends and they have not contacted me. Besides, I am a full blown adult

I know what is right and what is wrong. I’ll leave it at that. At the fullness of time, if they get in touch with me and it is not somebody cooking up something, we will talk about it and resolve it amicably.’

We are definitely waiting for the fullness of time.

i mean, the dress wasn't all that bad, it's just the horrid shiny stockings, and the eyebrows (God help me from those eyebrows)...where do they get off having a "meeting" regarding what she had on?
