O pari
Come to Liverpool man, my side of the world, Asians, especially Indians fake the local accent and end up sounding inaudible.

Wow. Many of the Asian chicks, and guys, I went to college with have been here since they were teenagers but most of them still have very strong accent. However, they are mainly from China, Japan, and South Korea. And Russians too, I don't see them trying to fake accent either.

Sorry to disagree here, "How do you mean" is actually a proper phrase, it depends on the contest upon which it is used.

Yes o! My dear DD, English can be sometimes funny, and in this case, it is funnily correct.

The problem is 90% of the time they misuse it. BTW, not only the actors do this, quite a lot of nigerians at home do too. I had to ask one of my English professors to explain the difference between the "how" and "what" when I noticed quite a lot of my friends at home do say "how do you mean".

You are quite right, Nigerians tend to always swing towards the direction of what they think is in vogue. "What do you mean" sound more realistic though.

Yes o! ... I googled it to post here, so you can find a reference, and to clarify my stand.

But one of the pronunciations that irks me is when they say, "how dear you" instead of "how dare you"

Man,you sure make a big deal out of this fone thing!Pronounciations of "dear" and "dare"?Why does it matter so much how properly they are pronounced,as long as the context in which these words are used is well understood, what does it matter?
How does an african who lives in africa speak phonetics without sounding fake?Africans and english,na wa!Una too make big fuss over nothing!Sometimes you forget that this damn english is not our mother tongue in the first place.
If we have to fuss about languages, let's fuss over ours.
