A regular face in most of the Yoruba home video Dele Odule says acting has been in his blood since childhood. “Acting has been running in my blood. So, I did not come into it by accident. I made up my mind right from my early age that I will become an actor.”
“When I was staying with my maternal grand parents, after the death of my mother, the environment actually influenced me a lot because in the village, there are lots of activities, festivals and when I eventually discovered that I could fit in, I never hesitated. I embraced it”, Odule said.
Today, 27 years into his choice career, Odule said it has been rewarding.

Odule said he has been involved in various activities in the entertainment industry even when he was at the teacher training college. He went for a diploma course at the Theatre Arts Department of the University of Ibadan.
At the period when Odule was involved in entertainment, there was nothing like film productions.
He said: “The only thing that was existing then was these stage performances, television series and producers who can afford to shot on celluloids, film productions, not this entertainment shows or these home videos”.

Odule has to his credit 10 films, but according to him, he has featured in not less than one thousand films. He disclosed that, though it is not the best for an actor to declare such statement, he has to be practical about this.
From his personally produced films, Dele Odule said they are all very challenging. He continues: “There is none of my productions that is not challenging. I do not just write for nothing, I see every productions as good. I cannot say this one is better because I just do not produce for the fun of it. I must have gotten something that I want to get across to my viewers”.

To the famous actor, he said he has a day in his acting career that he would always love to remember. According to him: “The only one I actually love that will remain indelible in me is when I was the head of the electoral committee that conducted the election for the late Adeyemi Afolayan (otherwise known as Ade Love). Then, I never thought someone like me would have that kind of opportunity to say okay, I am presiding over such defined task.
“But the rest are just normal things that could happen to anybody either positive or negative. If I have enjoyed anything in acting, it is something that I expected. And if there is negative aspect, it is just the price one has to pay for being a star. So, I do not really see anyone as being spectacular”, Odule said.
