the double amputee from south africa. sorry, his name escapes me now.
he's on the 4X400 relay team and i think he's competing in the 400M
Oscar Pistorius....There was an issue with the blades, and he was going to be stopped from competing with the others, but I think the officials, abi na the courts ruled that there wasn't substantial evidence to prove that he has an advantage, so they had to let him compete...

Kenya says it would bid for 2024 Olympics
Kenya’s capital Nairobi is planning to bid for the 2024 Olympics and become the first African city to host the Games, the prime minister said on Wednesday.

“Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, speaking at the Kenya National House today, announced that the Republic of Kenya will be starting the process of pitching to host the Games of the 33rd Olympiad in 2024,” a Kenya House announcement said.

“If successful, these Games will be the first ever held in Africa.”

The International Olympic Committee will elect the 2024 host city in 2017, with official campaigning to start two years earlier.

There have been African bids in the past, most recently with Egypt’s Cairo unsuccessfully bidding for the 2008 Olympics that were awarded to Beijing.

South Africa’s Cape Town had also bid for the 2004 Games, staged by Athens. The country did, however, host the 2010 soccer World Cup, the first to be held on the African continent.

The 2016 Olympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro – the first in South America – while Tokyo, Madrid and Istanbul are bidding for the 2020 Games, with a decision to be taken next year.

Floks, I just watched the dressage, and I never thought I'd be into that, but I was so impressed and really fascinated by the horses. They were so beautiful, graceful, elegant, I mean, I wanted to go lose weight so I could be a jockey. they were amazing. It seems GB has the lockdown on this sport, no wonder Romney had to take a 78K loss on his horse!!
And next time around you can win a Gold medal... but you'd have to at least one of the 3 Team GB Dressage Horses for Sale Now!

There is just something mesmerizing about watching US athletes compete. It's like they know they can win, they have that strong conviction. Even if they are behind, you see them coming for you, like get out the way, I am winning this! Impressive stuff!

That 200M race was so beautiful I had to watch it again, even though The Bolt annoys me. Can't stand that boy with his arrogant ass.

One woman at the African store today, while we were discussing the Olympics and lamenting that our various African countries did so poorly said we should check him well, that he might be taking something they haven't detected. Hahaha.

I thought I was the only one. Bolt is too arrogant for his own good, and I am a bit surprised that people just laugh it off like "oh classic Bolt". uhmmm, nothing like that cos when other celebrities do similar stuff, they get grilled for it. I get that he is talented and all, but I really can't stand his pompous tail; Living legend my ass!
