2013 Giama Awards Nominees List Now Out!

    Nominees for one of the most anticipated awards in Nollywood, the Golden Icons Academy Awards popularly known as GIAMA is out. Names of nominees include veterans in the business including Kunle Afolayan, Ramsey Nouah, Teco benson, Emem Isong, Desmond Elliot, Uche Jombo-Rodriguez, Kate Hensahw, Rita Dominic, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha but it also includes some newbies such as Blossom Chukwujekwu, Seun Akindele, Mary Lazarus, Tamara Eteimo, and many more. There is much anticipation as the nomination list is quite competitive this year. The GIAMA vision is to celebrate the very best of African films and to continually showcase their unique talent, and expose in a meaningful manner to the diaspora at large. It is organised by Entertainment mogul, Mr Bode Ojo and is set to take place in Houston, Texas on October 19th.

    ...let me just say that I have a lot of disagreements with this nominee's list. Plus, where da heck is the Lifetime Achievement Awards section??????!!!!!!
    I searched and I searched, and I searched again throughout the entire list, I no see am. Hellloooo?????!!!!!!

    ...and BTW, why wait till the last day to find out who the humanitarian award winner is going to be? Anyways,....I hope Genevieve Nnaji wins this most important award. She did so much for motherless children's home in Nigeria this past year more than anybody else.
    ...just my 2 cents................

    Hmmm.... Ok. Its okay to have divergent opinions. That's what makes us people (and that's also why Heaven is not a democracy! :) About the Lifetime Achievement Award, the name will soon be announced. Keep a look out.
