80% of Women Still Wear the Wrong Bra Size

Eighty percent of women are wearing the wrong bra size.

Whether you're wearing a ratty old friend you're reluctant to replace, a fashion-y brassiere you like the color of or one in the size you've simply always worn, there's an overwhelming probability you're wearing an over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder that's wrong for you.

"A lot of women stick to the number in their head from when they were first fit," Kay-Lin Richardson, director of sales and spokeswoman for Panache Lingerie explained. "They'll say, I'm a 34 B or a 36 C. I've been guilty of that. I couldn't imagine that I would ever be a D cup because that wasn't in my head and it wasn't my size."

But what most women don't realize is that their bodies are constantly changing. A bra size could change with as little as a five-pound weight loss or gain, changing physical activity or even age. "You should probably get fit every year -- just go and check in to make sure you're still wearing the right size," Richardson told StyleList. "You probably are, but you probably wouldn't even realize that your bras aren't fitting anymore because that's just the way they've always fit you."

It's a societal epidemic that women need to address. We're heavier than we've ever been, many women are augmenting their breasts, and hormones in the food chain have changed the shape and size of breasts. Consequently, there is a demand for sizes starting at 28 in band size and going up to FFF cups. The good news is that better data, improved engineering and manufacturers working with the changing bodies of women are creating choices where once there was none.

This article is so true.
I just found out that the lady at Victoria secrets measured me wrong. I am so mad.
She measured across my chest instead of under them. And I think she told me the wrong cup size because when I went home with several bras in that size, my poor girlfriends...

this was a good article though.
when i told big sis about the bra size she said there is no way in this world you are the size they measured you at V.S. and she then explained to me how to get the right measurement.
most women don't know how to get their correct measurement.

Ah! Uncle Sholz! What is with you and shoes and braz this wknd? sconf:sconf:

I got measured at BHS and bought the bra size they told me. Now I've had to ditch them cuz they're too large. I've gone back to what I used to wear. I'm tempted to think even those measuring don't really know what they're on about.

Ok...You might consider bravissimo ...Don't know if you know it . I was first measured at M&S and it didn't work out at all...I got measured at Bravissimo and haven't looked back since..I still only buy my bras from England, the American ones don't work for me...

Hmmmm....people that us who are quite endowed up there not only have issues in finding the right bra size BUT also find those with correct support. It's one thing when it sizes but it shouldn't look like you know what....Anyway. I got measured in Selfridges. No one does it like those people, abeg. I went back last year to just "update" myself and went out with a hanged down head. Good bras are expensive. I still ask friends or momsie to help me purchase them in the UK and send them over. I can't seem to find bras that support good enough in the states. Anybody got suggestions on where to buy good bras? And no Victorias secret does not have my size. Thank you
