If you notice, Sandra Bullock was nominated as an "American" woman, or simply a "woman", whereas Monique and the cast of 'Precious' were nominated as "African American" women and men; see the difference?
Monique said her win was not political and based on performance, but I beg to differ. I've come to realize that the Academy Awards is very much a political event, and much of how the awards are dispersed at the Oscars is politicized due to the ceremony's history and global prestige (snobbery).
That is why I think the AMAAs is important right now to NollyGolly, and hopefully Illuminati don't have their hands in this yet!
