I like my hair natural, and if I have a little girl, chances are she's going to have a natural too...perhaps not dreads but still...for someone to say no afro puffs? i mean we can't all be silky straight or want to wear corn-rows.
    sigh.
had a discussion with a friend the other day and we were having a very spirited discussion about hair and how the subtle references to "black" hair gives little girls a complex about themselves.

Nothing wrong with the schools rule if it aplies to everyone. The natural hair should be pulled back in a ponytail but the same rule should apply to the white kids. They too should have their hair pulled back in a ponytail. We had natural hair in Nigeria but I do not know one school in Nigeria were we did not have designated hairstyles. This was private school too. They do not need to straighten their hair but it could be pulled back neatly
