I have a hard time picturing the book as a feature film. But who knows?

You know those Nollywood films that are made abroad, I see this as that one. It could end up being that crappy or it could be like The Diamond Ring.

Hmm...I did not picture Lupita as the lead in Americanah. I imagined someone a bit bigger than Lupita, weight-wise, a 90s Omotola.

We don't know what capacity she is attached to the project as. Simply because she auctioned it doesn't mean she wants to play lead. She might be producing it or something.

I'd prefer somebody with lots & lots of gravitas as the lead. I totally disagree with your choice. This film is already screaming for somebody with mega gravitas as the lead. I know just who that person is. See what it did to HOAYS. With just a cameo appearance in the film, the film still blew up all over the world. See what I mean?

David Oyelowo would make a perfect Obinze.
