    04.08.2014 By BellaNaija.com

30-Days-in-Atlanta.jpg We have been teased for months about AY‘s first produced movie – 30 Days In Atlanta starring actors from Nigeria, Ghana and America.

The trailer is out now. The hilarious flick is about a Warri boy Akpos (AY) who calls himself a self appointed psychologist.

He wins a 30-day holiday for two to Atlanta, Georgia. He takes his cousin Richard (Ramsey Nouah), an IT specialist on the all-expense paid trip.

Starring in the movie are Vivica A. Fox, Lynn Whitfield, Karlie Redd, RMD, Desmond Elliot, Mercy Johnson, Rachel Oniga, Ada Ameh, Uti Nwachukwu, Kese Jabari, Majid Michel and Juliet Ibrahim.

It is directed by Robert Peters.

So good to see RMD. But sorry peeps, I just can't stand these 'So 90s 'Hello-Yankee-Im-a-bushman-from-Nigeria' comedies. Will totally pass on this.

Scathing article...but true...in an industry where the veteran(used loosely) filmmakers settle for kpa kpa production...what do you expect from the new comers..

Interesting viewpoint in that report. Thanks for sharing VB.

On to the final question dropped at the end of the piece:
That's actually an obviously idiotic question. Very few things operate at the level of excellence from inception. Most things begin at the level of "crap" - aka learning curve - before they emerge onto excellence. Even if the Nollywood films served no purpose, they have inspired a younger generation to believe in themselves and dare to make movies, new kinds of movies. They have offered a ladder to prop up others who will clean up the game - or just extend the ladder for others who will eventually do the perfecting. Rwandan guy sounds like he has issues with his own Rwandan films that get made "per excellence" but can't find an audience. Maybe he should be borrowing populist tendencies from Nollywood to add his "art" to instead of writing it off. Only ignorance asks small-minded questions like the above.
