Its back, popular reality show Big Brother Africa returns to the screens this August, Mnet announced yesterday.

With the highlights, drama and excitement of Big Brother Africa 2 still fresh in the minds of DSTV audiences across the continent and driven by its phenomenal success, Mnet has moved quickly to begin work on Big Africa 3.

“Audiences clearly demonstrated their involvement with Big Brother 2 by voting, texting the show’s dedicated channel and downloading video clips,” says Joseph Hundah Mnet Director of sub Saharan Africa.

With over 900, 000 SMS messages received, over 14 million page impressions registered on the show website and over 4 million video clips viewed online, the incredible demand for Big Brother Africa 2 has motivated M-net to create a third season.”
Now, with Big Bother Africa 3 set to launch on Sunday august 24, just hours after the 2008 Olympic Games ends, DSTV audiences are in line to receive an extravaganza of great programming.

After 16 days of world class sporting action, viewers can tune in for 91 days of Big Brother Africa action with the finale schedules for November 23. As with season 1 and 2, in the Big Brother Africa 3, housemates from 12 countries- Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe will live together until, after several rounds of voting, the winner will walk away with US$100,000.

With contestants from Big Brother Africa 2 now continentally famous, the search is on for 12 new housemates.

To enter Big Brother Africa 3, simply collect an entry from your nearest Multichoice officer or log on to MNET - WHERE MAGIC LIVES.

Anyone over the age of 21, who is a citizen of one of the 12 participating countries and in possession of a valid passport, can enter Big Brother Africa 3.
According to M-Net entrants must be tolerant of views and lifestyle choices other than their own and must have the social flexibility to live in close proximity with others.

The deadline for entries is Wednesday April 30, 2008. Once all entries have been received, a selection team will begin evaluating them and short listing potential housemates, who’ll then undergo a series of medical and physical tests to check their suitability for show’s tasks and challenges.

Big Brother Africa 3 will be produced by Endemol for Mnet and Channel O VJ Kabelo Ngakane will once again host the series, screened live from the Big Brother Africa House in Johannesburg.

I think there will be a few people trying to act up yep, but they cant duplicate these people so will fail. Hopefully it will be a whole new crop of interesting people.

I was surprised they were repeating it again this year, apparently, even though a few found it boring, the contoversy and fever following of the HMs like Richard, Lerato etc, ensured that MTN through Mnet made a kiliing from unprecedented votes and smses.

can you believe people are still fighting over the Richiana affair on Oboma and wordpress etc, and HMs like Richard, Tatiana and Meryl are still in the news with one thing or the other, so I guess its a perfect time to do series 3,business wise

Got this from hottestgossip.co.za

The Most talked about Reality show in Africa is coming back to the small screen later on the 24Th of August !!! And we have all the gossip on BBA3….

Sources From the DSTV network have exclusively revealed to us the latest Development on BBA3:

-At this stage , All the 12 housemates have been cast and the production crew have already shot the validation tape from each countries!!!

-The BB house decor will be completely different from what we had last year , our sources told us the production have put loads of money on the interior design and people will be blown away!!!!

The production is considering banning alcohol on this year’s show especially because of the “Fingergate” incident last year, There was a heated debate between the producers , some claimed alcohol should be banned to avoid more controversies this year while other believed Alcohol bring the best out of contestants and the show is much more fun to watch when some are drunks….So The final decision will be made some times next week….

According to our sources this year’s South african contestant is a man , The Ugandan contestan is a man too while the Angolian is a woman …

The nominations will take a different turn this year (no spoilers on this one!!!)

And there will be a twist which will shock both the contestants and the viewers and this will only be revealed at a later stage of the game….

Should be exciting !!!

Also look out for Hotgoss’ new makeover and all the dirt on the furture contestants !!!
