Caught in the Act, starring Gen and Nonso Diobi :Preview looked very blahhhh to me. Neither Nonso nor clarion are favourites of mine. Not so interesting preview. Maybe i am wrong. lets wait and see.

ps; also stars Clarion Chukwura

I really don't expect much because Van Vicker with any female co-star spells horrible.

Good-looking, Yes. Good actor, Hell No!

In fact, sometimes his acting can ruin a perfect good scene/movie and he drags his female co-stars down the bad acting street.

Review: "broken tears" - nice but no "Whao!!" Factor:

The storyline coulda been better and the fact that it didnt end well did not help at all -. It was pretty - uhmm whats the word "slow", and thus no reason why it should have been stretched and not all end in one movie. Van has definately improved as an actor, and i enjoy some of his"non lover boy roles such as this, but there was simply no as much chemistry btwn him and Genny. I am curious to know how it ends cos Vans character seem to have had some deep issues. Too many "why's immediately the movie starts.

Kate the annoying neighbor character was too blah for me - prying so damn early from the moment she moved in, and then genny trusting her too quick - that just too quick and unbelievable - that part of the script was not good. I didnt really understand the Grace's and her boyfriends character and why it was necessary. Genny, Kate and Grace all looked beautiful. I know Gen was suppose to be an abused wife but did they have to let her weaved looked all jacked up like that after the beatings sweat:

Some of the scenes in door were too dark or too bright, and double flashback or scenes on the screen - what was that? new nollywood thing.

To many "whys" and trying to find heads and tail. It definately coulda been better, No need to have stretched it and worse of all not end it. Cos then now ppl will think twice of getting the sequel if or when it comes out.

ohmigahd the background music in so many scenes (esp in the bedroom scenes where gen and van were talking) were too damn loud and annoying, am like lower the volume of the music - its drowning the talk - gosh! we still have to put up with this. I thought we were done with music drowning scenes. One movie i enjoyed in the past was Scorpion (St Obi, Dakore, Benita) but oh gosh - that was the loudest of the loudest background music drowning every damn scene.

Overall i rate this movie 5/10 - as i said b4 i watched this movie, I didnt know what to expect with a first time Van & Gen combo, just like i dont expect much with the impending Nonso and Gen combo titled "Caught in the Act". There is definately chemistry btwn Van and Nadia/Jackie/Oge but certainly not Gen. Either there is chemistry or there is not, there clearly wasnt with this script btwn Gen and Van.

A Gen/Muna or Gen/Desmond are always great but Give us some Gen/RMD (i miss them so much), SDA/RMD maybe a Gen and Yul. A Muna/Tontoh, a Desmond/Ufeoma; A Yul/Ufeoma; A Yemi/Uru Eke or maybe another Yemi/Gen or something.

At least they tried. Who knows maybe in another future script - the chem might be there. i dont know if it was the script or the chem simply wasnt there.

I'm a firm believer in "to each his own" but... clarion is a DYNAMIC actress, in my own humble opinion.
i think, she, (like Ms. Joke Silva), hasn't been given an opportunity to showcase her talent. that's my opinion sha.

i'm still waiting for that one script that will make me say 'WOW' when i see Ms Silva act.

Did you see Desperate women and the prequel/sequel? she was fabulous, i don't know if it was her or the writer or the director, but she built up that character for me, her character actually evolved before my very eyes, and then there was another movie where she was a burn victim and she played that one to perfection too, although the rest of the movie had its obvious flaws and all.

anyway my sister, nonso is not my cup of tea, i don't think he is particularly a good actor but i'm sure some people think he is fabulous.

I'm sorry but i didn't like the movie. The movie was just blah blah for me, i was waiting for something unusual to happen instead the movie came to end. :(.

I don't feel like recommending the movie, cause it was a waste of my time, but i'll say go ahead and watch for those who have been waiting for Van and Genny (they both didn't do it for me either, i was expecting more from them:tired).

I guess the story was not dramatic enough or something, compared to senseless, i give it to senseless. Both had similar storyline, yet senseless gave us more. So many thing were missing, things didn't add-up or make sense either.

I just saw the movie this weekend, and I must say that it wasn't my cup of tea. There was no chemistry between the two of them. I rate the movie a C-

Thanks dear. Very bad. Van Vicker cannot act abeg. Finally I have concluded. Need to call a spade a spade. The kids were not believable either. Ever seen a child terrified of her dad? I did not feel her terror. It was clear she was trying not to laugh. And Van was so inconsistent - the homvie did not make it clear whether he was a beast, or just frustrated with life. I did not figure him out right to the end. It so did not work for me.

Aside from all the bad acting, inconsistency in characters, my major peeve was their inability to properly flesh out characters. Abeg jo!! All of a sudden, Genny's character trusts Kate's character with all her secrets. No gradient in that friendship at all? Things escalate too suddenly. Van does not even try to toast Grace's character at all before trying to start something. It was all very strange to me.

And just imagine o, there will be continuation because there was no resolution!

These people think that all they have to do is have a big house and nice car, and wham, bam, movie ma'am!! I had high hopes and I am really disappointed. :fing23:

p.s - I bought this one, so I am really vexing!!fdev:

It was terrible.:gnash

The two kids weren't making matters easy too. I didn't understand the issue with Kate either. Things didn't make sense at all. :fing23:

I'm waiting to read what others have to say.

Well Since I Have Been Waiting For Van Gene Chemistry Thing For Sometime Now It Wasnt All I Expected Because Of The Story Line.we Need To See A Love Story Between Those Two You Know, Most Of Us Love To See Love Stories, that Wife Beater Thing Didnt Do The Movie Any Justice.but The Acting Was As Always Perfect From My Obaahema.

Story...ben--van And Yvonne Gene Are Married With One Child Elizabeth, but Ben Was Very Abusive To Them,he Does Not Let Them Interact With Anyone Around Them.then A Very Nice Lady And Her Son Moves In Next Door. WELL YOU GUYS HAVE TO SEE THE REST OF THE MOVIE TO JUDGE, CANT GIVE IT ALL OUT

Genevive Nnaji & Van Vicker in Brooken Tears.

If any one is ever in doubt about Genevive being the Best in Nolliwood(Nigeria & Ghana) watch Broken Tears .---I'm not sure if there is a thread on it here already and that 'boy' Vicker has no rival among the GUYs folks of Nolliwood (Nig. & ghana) everybody should get a copy of the film. just came out in MARYLAND 2 weeks ago.
