Buhari: Tinubu Sold South West Votes to PDP, Jonathan

LAGOS, April 18, (THEWILL) – The controversy surrounding the failed alliance deal between General Muhammadu Buhari’s party and Bola Tinubu’s have just refused to go away.

The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) presidential candidate, Major General Buhari has accused former Lagos State Governor Bolaji Ahmed Tinubu of trading off the South West region to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in the last Saturday’s Presidential election in a secret deal struck shortly before the poll.

For some reason, our northern Nigerian brethren think the presidency of Nigeria should be theirs for the asking.

    VERY VERY Sour loser!!!
The mallams sure think Aso Rock is their birth right! And while they make the whole world think that there are more people in the north, some of us know that the northern part of Nigeria is full of empty spaces, no humans, and lots of cows and sheep! Seriously they should conduct a good Census and people go weak for the ACTUAL population of the northerners in comparison to the southerners . See how the south is packed tight with humans, to the point that people even kill each other over small acres of lands? Where have you heard that a mallam was fighting over land? Or do we want to talk about the epidemics and diseases that wipe them out in hundreds and thousands in the north?

These my northern people should gbaa break O! Otherwise Nigeria go secede O! And na dem go lose! All the oil wells are still in the South! And the groundnut pyramids are all gone in the North! Just saying.....

I can't seem to understand it too! Take a look at google maps (Double click on Nigeria to zoom in). How can anyone in good faith say that all those desolate and arid areas in northern Nigeria host more people than the lush densely populated southern part of Nigeria?

my dear, it is ONLY in the north that you would drive for 3 hours non-stop and see NO HUMAN being! Except for cows and sheep and goats and vultures! And you wonder why they equate the size of th boundaries on map to human count.
They have all the desert, dry lands too!
There are more southerners than northerners.
Remember also that almost every family in the south these days have someone abroad or in another city. But the northerners are known to return back home even after getting quality education in the Western world! ...smh

Why do you lot say this? Was it not these same people who voted Obasanjo, a Yoruba man in twice? Left to the SW people, Obasanjo wouldn't have won! Democratically, since 1960, Hausas have only ruled twice and Yorubas - once. The Hausas kept to their end of the bargain by allowing the SW to rule for 8 years and it was their turn but due to the demise of Yaradua, Goodluck became a defacto president. To keep peace and unity, he shouldn't have backed out of the power sharing agreement knowing what volatile country we have due to ethnic and religious differences but no, due to his own selfish interest, he backed out to an agreement he was part of. If the North had been allowed to rule, it would have been the SE's turn come 2015 or 2019 but due to GEJ's own greed, you lot can kiss goodbye to the presidency. If you think he would be handing over the presidency to the SE, then think again! Here is a man who promised steady power supply by the end of 2011 but we are still waiting. A man who signed up to zoning, but yet again backed out. Such man should never be trusted. He is a wasteful soul! How can you justify spending 100million a day for a campaign? How can you justify building airports in all 36 states of the federation? Well, you lot asked for him so you better put up with whatever he dishes out to your for the next 4 or 8 years!

Did Buhari expect the South to sing fake kumbaya, kumbaya with him  His sins against the people of Southern Nigeria are numerous and cannot be forgotten in a hurry.

    • Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) in the mid-nineties. PTF's legacy is still clearly visible in the some Northern states (good roads, hospitals and schools), and even Southern Kaduna did not receive any significant benefit from its activities.

    • The Lagos Metroline Project canceled for no justifiable reason.

    • The licensed Private universities in Eastern Nigeria which he abrogated.

    • The UPN free education and schools in Southwest which his regime abolished and closed respectively.

God bless you! Fact - an Igbo man would never vote a Yoruba man into presidency because they believe that they were betrayed by Awolowo. Our greatest allies were the Hausas. An Ibo man can not in a million years be voted president either because a Yoruba man would not leave his own to vote an Igbo and Hausas detest the Igbos, they only have the SS to align with and we know that the SS people don't trust the Igbos either. Right now, Nigeria hasn't been more divided and the earlier we go our separate ways the better. We cannot continue to force this marriage.

How do you account for Obasanjo winning the two Presidential elections twice? You think the Igbos were not part of the Electorate then?

Not at all. My point is that the bulk of his votes came from the North and even he attested to it.

Lets not kid ourselves, we know that the SE states rigged heavily for Jonathan but he has played a Jacob on their Esau. Jonathan has taken the SE birthright.

No! That is not even suggested or proven by neither the international observers nor the local politicians from the SE who belong the CPC of Buhari or ACN of Ribadu. Following your Yoruba/Igbo divide, I wonder why the entire Yoruba nation voted for GEJ? See chart below:

The answer to your question lies in the past and it has a way of uprooting itself at the appointed time.

Get it right, the entire Yoruba nation did not vote for Jonathan, he merely received the most vote. In contrast to the SE, SS and results from the North, the results from the SW appears to be the most credible as it is clear that they were not voting along ethnic or religious lines. They voted heavily for CPC and ACN just as they voted for the PDP which is far more than you can say about the voters in the SE or parts of the North.

Indeed, and while some only show up at the appointed season, others are in constant display.
