Thats why I used the word "URGE" Not Command! That in itselfs depicts that I was appealing to general common sense! When you start bringing "God's Will" into political arguments you are already presuming too much! Was just pointing that out in my post, but It is definitely in your prerogative to stick to ya convictions!smokin:

A murky ground it is, politics and religion.!
i can see you are not a very good student of the bible you claim to so much understand. God cannot be seperated from politics. the bible says God ordains every leader and goes further to advise that we subject ourselves to our leaders as God has put them as head over us at that particular time. God is definitely involved in every sphere of his children's lives with no area of exception!. my bible also says all that we do or say should be in the name of the Lord! please, i choose to believe the biblical word and not what you think is right. so enough of your misleading information as i have every right to say let the "will of God" be done. i hope you remember too that the bible encourages we should use the phrase "as the Lord wills" since nobody knows even what would happen to him/her the next second i.e we are not the owners of our lives!

Yes o. I am glad i've proved you right. it is indeed religion and politics as both cannot be seperated. everything we do in lives as xtians, we do it by putting and aknowledging God first. our God takes preeminence over every facet of our lives. it is a pity, aknowledging this fact is running your belly, but what can i do?

Oh are we now at sunday school? Showing our prowess on our knowledge and application of God's word?

God's injunction to our leaders and to us is to obey HIM and them in the realm of our spirituality. That is why we have divinely called pastors to lead the flock and to witness to the world, in fulfillment of scripture, for the coming of our lord. So because Chris okotie wants to be president you have stretched that injunction to include leading nations and politics?!! We havent finished the divine work God has set out for christiandom, the church and the world are a in a mess, nah to begin dive into politics to become prez as part of God's calling abi? Please!

To what purpose, and what could possibly be any sound man of God's motivations for cohorting with the likes of IBB and going into the political fray??

We can rigmarole round this issue rom now till kingdom come. and we will still each believe what we will. Why must I continue to argue over this? Must you agree with my opinion, definetly not. Must I also see your point of view as right? Effing NO!So leave it at that! My opinion is mine, and I'm sticking to it!:653:

I'm bored with this line of discourse! Next topic please!smokin:

since you have made it a duty to continue to attribute to God what He did not say all in your attempt to say OKOTIE for being a pastor has no right to want to contest the presedential elections, i would advise u read romans13:1-7. this is indeed a sunday schl lesson. pple like you would do ur research well before trying to mislead us with false doctrines. i choose to believe what the bible says alone except u can also make specific references to where God says it's absolutely wrong for a pastor going into politics/politics and God are two parallels, and not just an assumption based on what u feel is right. for ur information, i ain't also doing this to convince u to change your mind, but for the sake of others whom you have confused with your heresies!

I think Dsampler meant that Hausas would see an attempt to Christianize Nigeria if chris Okotie gets in as President being a pastor. They would argue that eventhough the North dorminated rulership of the country,an Imam or religious head was never president or Head of state. It goes further in buttressing the impact of religion on Nigerian politics.
Religion is so vital an instrument that Buhari was quoted as saying that he would install Sharia in the Nigerian constitution, register Nigeria for OIC membership and so on.He was using that medium if true,to appeal for muslim votes while pitching the Christians on OBJ at that time(2003).Though okotie is yet to sing along the line of Christianizing Nigeria, people would believe that it is only natural for a pastor as president to,do just that.
On the issue proper,Chris may have the knowledge of the problem of Nigeria but does he have what it takes to fix the problem? If one would use previous experience/s as a yardstick for measuring compitence for being Nigerian president, which one would be used for Chris? Is it a one hit record album or running a hip pentirascal oh sorry, penticostal church?
Folks we are talking about running a Federation with more potentials than smooth skills in tithe collection!!
VOTE REASONABLY OR DIE MISERABLY!!

Papino, you are a realist and I respect you for dat. You have said it all! grinning:
