Vince, they had a national wide script writing contest last year to get this script. So many budding writers sent there stuffs and they narrowed down the scripts to get this one. Now these guys are searching for those truly gifted but rare talents out there. But the funny thing is they are just after promoting the amstel malta brand, yet their stuffs always turn out better than most of the nolly guys.

Now that's what a movie poster should look like not d idumota type with all the cast and crew on d jacket.
Really wish I was in Naija right now! I want to watch this!
Amstel should think about branching out into studio/movie production. Be the standard bearer for quality Or.... they could try and produce at least 3/4 quality movies per year....That to me should be emergence of a 'quality' focused 9JA MOVIE INDUSTRY.

So, who wrote the movie? They always write the names of actors and directors but the man or woman whose concept is made into film is never ever mentioned! AMSTEL, who wtrote the film you are premiering?

It appears the writer is inconsequential. All they wanted was a good script and they found the easiest way of getting it, by organising a so called "national wide script writing contest". I don't want to sound pessimistic but this sounds like exploitation of writers to me.
Oh well! I guess it's business.

Writer inconsequential? That is not a nice way of treating the brains that created the blueprint for the movie they are using to promote their brand.
Writers deserve a bit more respect and acknowledgement.

My statement was intended to support rudeboy's observation that the writer of the script had not been duly acknowledged.
It was geared to show that AMSTEL were not really interested in promoting the writers. Their motive was purely financial.
I believe your comment should be directed at AMSTEL.

Chai! What is wrong with naijarulers, these days? What makes you think my post was directed at you, meddeen? You don begin dey produce movies?

Hehehehe!
As a result of the way you started your asking by whether the writer is inconsequential, I thought you were referring to me.

About me making movies, that would be nice. It will be the first Nollywood movie in which a single actress played 6 or more different roles.sweat:

I was referring to the Amstel guys, because i went to the movie website and i couldn't see the name of the writer, either. This is bad, because writers deserve billings, too.
As for your 1 actress 6 roles concept...that actress will be the female "Eddie Murphy".
Hehehehe!

Well the winner of the contest obviously wrote the movie, am sure his name would be in the credits of the movie. He was on tv, newspapers and even on the website after the script contest then. Dont think the amstel guys are out to exploit anyone, might just be something they overlooked.
