Contemplating Going Natural?

Thickmadam

OHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHH!!
i wonder if it's the colour...i normally get a rinse/highlight but i bleached/dyed my hair this summer and either my hair fell out or it's not growing...i do keep it moisturized.
I use extra virgin coconut oil and not much else, (just started using the "as i am" conditioner and twist cream)
i'm letting the colour grow out and i will probably just highlight again instead of colouring the whole thing...i'm thinking that might have been the issue. :(

you can use a combo of kemi oil's oxy oil conditioning spray, and procidic spray. one detangles, and the other conditions. The Kemi rep was at my godsis' salon maaaany years ago, and she told him i'd never had a perm, he handed me two full size bottles of each. You may be over conditioning, and need to wash some of the products out, so what's needed can penetrate the hair shaft. I know that happened to me, when i was making/using my own conditioner for months. When i finally made it to my godsis's salon(she's natural), she was like daheyull???? she took a comb, and ran it across a section of my hair, which looked dull, and all these products were caked on. it took about a month of me using keracare's first lather, and then their shampoo to remove the excess, and then she gave me Natures blessings hair oil, and that helps a great deal. It's 100% oil, but it looks like a pomade, and lasts a looooong time. This is just my opinion. Some folk aren't fans of products that are commercially available, especially the newly "minted" folk..I've never had a perm, i'm not a natural nazi, have NO problem with ladies who wear weaves, wigs,ANYTHING at all....It's hair, do whatever allows you to be great..

so i decided against wearing two afro puffs to work. i do wear one puff though. *grin*
i am thinking of putting up a sign "do not touch my hair without my permission"
i swear...these oyibo people i work with are so fascinated with my hair and if one more person puts their hand in my puff without my permission they'll get an earful.

At this point....let me kukuma report myself....so I was bored with my natural short hair Abeg
Anyway everyone was complaining I was getting too small and I felt the hair was not helping matters...
So I quietly went and put in a weave, as per a different look and giving my hair a chance to grow....
Meeeennnnnn some people's winch caught me...my scalp itches like mad when I work out...
I can't remember it itching this much or maybe I'm used to the freedom of my short red hair...
Today was particularly bad.....my gym had added some new classes, so after Zumba this morning ....my gym buddies and I decided to try out the two new classes...
Abasi Mbok....haif way through I was drenched totally in sweat and my head was on fire...
I was cursing the day and damning the hour....I don't know how I survived....
Now I'm ready to pull it all off...but as Alaroro concerned I'm trying to make it to two weeks so at least my money will not waste totally...The cost of the stupid weave alone would have gotten me the leopard B.A shoes I was eyeing.....hissss
So now I'm suffering and smiling and counting down the days...

..still The Drama Queen!
This going natural thing!! Whether na the change in weather from HOT Africa to Wintery cold USA or the 3 hair bleaches I applied 3 times within 2 weeks to get my platinum blonde color that has caused the hairs at the back of my head to turn to fluffy mess that pulls off as I touch it, I no know!

Anyhoo, nothing spoil, this nappy hair is NOT seeing no relaxer soon! So, I am walking into the barber's tomorrow and telling him to scrape off all the week hairs behind, and leave the middle and front. Funky hair cut? Errmmm.. I been no plan am, na serious bad hair day cause am!

And Note To Self: Never apply blonde hair color with serious bleach to hair back to back just because I want platinum blonde...it is NOT worth it! If the hair no gree turn to blonde from my dark black, i for just manager the light brown I got already!
Over bleaching to Platinum blonde makes the hair falls off! That it is natural does not mean it still wont break like a relaxed hair! <crying>.
And yes! As much as the kits look good and easy, a hair colorist would have been better! At least, if dem mess the hair color up, i go get who to blame! But sadly, none of them go gree touch bleach to hair back to back! lol. They will professionally tell you to wait 2 weeks in-between colors! But, I get event wey no fit wait! #Sigh.

and my hair was doing so good! (at least in Africa!!!) This yeye winter sef! Hiiiissssssssss

You need to go to school to know that you cannot do that to your hair abi. The front should have fallen out instead of the back LOL. Gorimakpa. But seriously get that platinum blond back because it suits you

How is your hair doing? Did you try barbarellanoir's suggestion?

Right, my hair is fab, it grows great, so I don't really have problems with my hair as such. Usually, I do corn rows, hold that for two weeks, then I twist for another two weeks, rock a fro for a few days and then straighten my hair with good old hair straightners and rock that for another week or two before I wash again and go back to my corn rows.

I have gone round online and read on making home made hair conditioner, simply because, my hair is usually dry, I mean crispy dry, it's not fluffy like I want, so I made my own hair conditioner using the following:
a bit of water
coconut water
hair conditioner
glycerine
almond oil
lemon
tea tree oil
vitamin e oil
shea butter.

I have used this mixture for about a month now and my hair hasn't made any progress. I just need to be able to comb my hair without breaking sweat. It's hard to comb, especially after wash and when I comb every morning, it's like I haven't comed it for weeks. Is there something I'm doing wrong? (except the straightening, of course :D)
