I generally don't use heat on it. So I haven't tried to micowave for 5 seconds :) No, I don't blend with water, just mixing the oils in the blender is a enough to soften it to a soft creamy consistency. Re: The smell, I think perhaps the longer it stays then the more pungent the smell. Since I get mine mostly fresh from the people who make it, it smells nicer.
hm..i wonder where the one they sell us here comes from...well, it's not really a terrible smell but it doesn't smell like roses either.
if you microwave the shea for 5 seconds will still change the composition? learn something new everyday.
and when you blend it, do you add water?
just curious.
I still love my coconut oil :)

yeah, i hear you on that. i'm going through another frustration stage, my hair is not a TWA, but it's not long either, and i am getting mad when i take down my plaits in the morning and i dont' know how to make it look good, so i just pin up the sides and keep it stepping.

ME ME MEEEEE. thats my new line, my product junkiness and chemist days are over. I LOVEEEE their products and the children line too..( i use that on my son). I cant stop raving about it either...the products are amazzing! well, for me and Asher....
My friend convinced me to try it for a month and here is my feedback:
I tried it. I loved it.
I see what you mean about the softness and the moisture.
I was very impressed with the products.
I am now using intermittently with my As I Am products though :)

$1? really? I hear the Ghana ones are the best. I normally buy from Amazon and get the "Ghana grade - Unrefined Shea Butter - A"...it has a deeper yellow color than what I got from a Nigerian store. I am using the remaining ones I have as a moisturiser for my legs prior to going to bed.

BS, just out of curiousity, is sheabutter same as "Ori"...there was something my mum used to use for Mumps and I gather is the fancy thing called Sheabutter now.
do you not have an African store near you? you should probably try that.

with the double strand just undo the strand once and style it by weaving your fingers through your hair and pulling/pushing the hair up.
thanks for the tip! this worked.
i wasn't pulling/pushing the hair up, pulling it up makes a world of difference.

I have a confession.
I am wearing hair accessories with flowers. Little flowers, medium sized flowers.
Nothing big like what I derided ms Ini Edo about (although I did get 2 big ones as gifts from a dear friend, I have not yet had the courage to wear them), but flowers nontheless.
so there, my confession.
