The much anticipated show of UKWA turned out to be the darkest day in holland, as those that went to show went up in tears, because the feared holland police carried out a massive raiding of the place even before UKWA could peform, both Ukwa and all were taken according to source, and a total number of illegal Nigerians who have no legal resident permit numbering about 180 were on their way to lagos, it's a sorry event, but the big question is does the holland police have right to raid the event and arrest people who have done nothing wrong?, but only came to enjoy some nice show, b

It was reported on NOS (Dutch TV) today that only 111 Illegal Nigerians were arrested and deported because they were caught at a party in one of the popular joint known to be patronised by "Nigerian 419's" (The grand cafe). According to the news.

I a new development, some of the arrested people, called yesterday (just a day later) from Nigeria. It means that the Dutch Immigrations really planned the moves because they took them directly from the party straight to the airport.

Most of the time they are tipped off by our own people, here i London 2 weeks ago about 15 illegal immigrants were picked up at stratford station and sent back to their respective countries.

    WoW!!!

In U.S. if illegal alien didn't commit any crime (apart from illegality of residence), no one has any right to charge them just any how. But you are talking of Europe, you might wanna get a good lawyer.

Btw, did you say they are on the way to Lagos without trial? Was their a prior investigation to the arrest before deportation?

There is no Lawyer business about it. If you're in any country illegally, you're already COMMITTING a CRIME, so you don't actually have to go beyond that before you get picked up and charge, the mere fact that that you're illegal is just what it is..."ILLEGAL" which equals CRIME!

I believe dere are better ways of rounding illegal up (am Not advocating for illegal immigrants, don't get me wrong) than disrupting people's social life. I jst feel sorry for them cos I according to word of mouths, d raid was based on speculations dat d joint is used by fraudster etc.
Anyway dis is wot Osuofia caused with his stupid slogan "I go chop ur dollar"

@highlighted. Actually they do. In as much as I'm sympathetic with the plight of those arrested, but the fact that they're "illegal" means the police can arrest them regardless of the location as long as they're in the country.

@highlighted. Terrorists and illegal immigrants are different in the sense that an individual can be a citizen of their respective country and at the same time become a terrorist. A perfect example is the case of Richard Reid (popularly called "The Shoe Bomber"). He's not illegal because he was born in London. They normally refer to such people as "Home Grown Terrorists". Terrorism is a crime just like being an illegal immigrant, but the punishments are different.

Firstly, I'm neither a refugee nor am I an illegal immigrant.

Secondly, I responded to a question asked by Obude and judging by the circumstances involved, I believe I gave the right and appropriate answer.

Finally, whether an illegal immigrant became illgegal by over-staying or as a result of political instability is of no consequence. The fact is they're illegal and I don't need to explain to you the repercussions of being caught.

PS; I'm not in favour of arresting and deporting illegal immigrants who contribute to the economy and refrain from committing crimes. However, I was looking at the issue from a point of law and I did not make the law.
    You get?

...U dont have to attack Medeen...he's not advocating for these sorts of actions but stating a fact. One thing is that these European countries have different immigration laws and practises from the US.A cop in the United States cannot pull U over and ask U for your kpali..but a cop in most European countries can...and this no be new ting.Cops in Europe are given the jurisdiction to enforce immigrations laws, where as cops in the US aren't,unless in a rare case where a deportation hearing has been held and the person has been asked to leave, but then they stick around and Homeland Security tags their driver's license..that way when a cop runs your record and digs deep enough,it can pop and then U can be taken away for deportation.US law believes in most departments not easily intermingling their jurisdictions, that's why even the FBI can't come bust U on a state charge unless it's a federal offense. But Europe is different...I believe Italy is the most notorious for that because it's not an English speaking country.I dont know how it is in Europe but no one in the US carries their kpali around with them,so what I dont understand here is how they can round up people and head to the airport..what if pesin dey legal and im leave im kpali for house nko?
