Nne dalu so...

The way people just dismissed them like nothing...abeg make we take am easy o! The only guarantee in this life is God...nothing else...not marriage between two perfect people, perfectly aged, not Western economy -see EuroZone, nothing! See earthquake in Japan etc etc...

So how does marrying someone for love even though they're younger automatically translate to 'doomed from the start'???

Ojukwu should be living in abject terror all these years now as his wife is just maturing into her ageless beauty while he is 'wrinkling' away!

Wasn't Bruce not older than Demi? Didn't they have 3 children? Why did they break up then?
Wasn't Kate Henshaw's husband older? MonaLisa's? Eucharia's??? And the list goes on...

Abeg make we take am easy o!
GBAM!!! Right on point!

Say the truth ladies:

Any woman WOULD be more hurt if her man left her for a 'younger woman', as akin to him leaving her for her age mate/older woman.... because, the past is one thing NO one can ever get back! Beauty can be bought ala plastic surgery, wealth can be gotten[even through dubious means], but age, once gone past, time: once live past can NEVER be gotten back. And younger spouses are most likely to leave for a younger 'new' mate.
Sure, the older men still leave for the younger woman {which is more the norm: women naturally date older men, NOT younger}...
if I didn't make sense in this post, just blame it on the akara I just finished frying now, I put too much salt in it! hiiissss

The truth, nwannem nwanyi, is that ANYONE would be hurt if someone left them for someone else - older, younger, mates, richer, poorer, lives in Finland, Iceland, Uzbekistan:bouncy...you get my drift
I'm sure Bruce was hurt when Demi left and went on to be with Ashton but he carried on with great dignity.

The point is that you're hurt that the other person is younger will be more to your pride...deep down inside you will know that he/she was not worth it then if the attraction was linked to age...looking at it from another angle, they'll probably carry on trading down until they marry their own 18 year old daughter accidentally because they haven't been keeping track of all the newbies they've down-graded to....sweat:

Sorry, your confusion linked to your akara-frying has affected me....

Point is whether or not the other person is younger or older, any kind of leaving is hurtful...more so if there was love there in the first place.

Now can you fry the next batch of kose and send mine down please...

Tam, I understand your point. For me it was the cheating coupled with the age difference that made me conclude that this will not work. With the cheating, I came to this right from the start when i heard him being described as a ladies man on TV before the two got married. The age thing like I mentioned to sse and Chi above, one can not be too sure as there are cougars out there married to younger men.

In Demi's case for me, the age difference is close to 20 and I looked at it this way: here is a woman who will be reaching 60 while her man is in his fourties...with us women we slow down by a certain age whereas the men have the energy for you know what.....that is why I concluded that he will start cheating as his lady will no longer be able to handle his needs. At least not at the rate that he wants ..u know with some men, when they reach fourty that is when they start feeling the old age creeping in and want to feel young....and so some of them start looking elsewhere for a younger chick.

Although I predicted that this marriage was not a lifetime one, I thought that it will be much later before it ends.....

When I am 75 I would want a 75yr old chick, cos I think I'd be too tired to do anything. We'd just hold hands and make all the younger people jealous!

Hang on a minute... my grand-dad still had pikin at 70?

...Oh well, maybe I'll be like him and lower my taste to... shall we say 74?? lol

LOL....V-boy, you may be tired but Hef the playboy is handling multiple women at eighty-seven or something like that...show me how many women at that age are really looking for sex? More than likely, at that age, women will be looking for a companion to old hands as you stated.
