My apologies, Believer! My jest making was intended for the guys spreading the rumors not you.

Your English is even better than most who should have it as a first language, so be easy on you :fing33:

Plenty.

It's all about perception Dee.

Why should a perfectly good film suffer loss due to technical inadequacy, or because someone prefers drama/action films over romance?

There are many classic films of yesteryear that still suffer scrutiny (Scarface), but are they not still classics?

Chisom Juliet Okereke (writer/creator) should be applauded, and even awarded for giving us what may prove to be the best romantic film of the year!
Ok because you think it is a classic everyone should think it is a classic ....different strokes tru....you gave a fabulous review...very detailed and others did as well... and they did not echo in unison... dont forget those things you overlook willingly others cant ...we all have different standards to watching movies....

The Movie didnt bomb it just lacked an interesting tone...all is well my brother

If there's one thing I've learned throughout my life, it's to always give a woman the last word. :)

A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. Can this also be true for some Nollywood movies here on NR? lol

Movies and music work within a similar vein, so I'll use music as an example!

Dee, you're an artist, and as an artist I'm sure you've come across some who think highly of your work, and some who think not so highly; I personally think you're brilliant. :wubpink:

But being a creator of music (or a creator of anything for that matter) I'm certain you're aware that, some loved Elvis..some hated Elvis..some love Bob Marley..some hate Bob Marley. I happen to like Emerald. :bouncy

You said it yourself, one man's trash is another's treasure..or...classic! :rose:

Also, you say Emerald lacked an interesting tone. I completely disagree.

The majority of people who said they didn't like Emerald here on NR, made great emphasis on the film's technical shortcomings, and rarely spoke of the movie being boring or interesting in any way. The few that did (yourself included) may not necessarily have a preference for romantic films. :715:

Basically, my point is that if someone tells me that they do or don't like a movie, song, writer, book, director, person, etc., then my question to them is why?

If their answer isn't valid, then how can it be true?

This is how I read reviews, as well as how I write reviews; "why" is always the determining factor.

It seems like this Indian movie I watched 'Ab Ke Baras', the same storyline but some things were changed around. Maybe that's why I understood/liked it. If they made the correlation with the dreams and real life and closed the little loop holes, everything might have clicked. And the way it ended just didn't do it for me.

I think what they're trying to convey is: since they both were romantically involved in the past lifetime, he made a statement and said that he would be with her even if he was in another lifetime. SO, coincidentally they met again and the same things happened. That was the point of the Indian movie at least. Again, they should have closed the loop holes.

The chemistry between Majid and Genevieve was awesome!

I actually enjoyed the movie! In the next part, maybe Majid will also get random flashbacks about the past and the woman who gave her the ring will show up to both of them and the story of the past will be concluded and I think Majid will die again like he did in the past and thus continues the trend....maybe?

Again, something similar happened in 'Ab Ke Baras' :)

OHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHH!!
What a waste of a beautiful concept of a movie! Ionly saw parts 1 and 2, i don't know if i can bring myself to watch part 3 and 4.

the concept of this movie was absolutely beautiful.
who gave it to this director?
who was in charge of light?
key scenes were PITCH-BLACK! most of the scenes with nnaji were very dark and as an actress who does a lot with her face, the movie did not do her any justice at all.

i wonder if the idiot people in charge of this movie actually took a look at the movie before selling it.
are they blind? could they not see that half the movie was dark and we couldn't make out the actors?

Nonsense and emerald.

again, beautiful concept of a movie from what i've seen in part 1 and 2, but they can keep 3 and 4 and slap the $#!+ out of that director while they're at it.
