Peaceful as sleep until someone mentions ms nnaji’s name abi? Then you wake up :bouncyYa so wise!!! Them awake my serenity at the mention of Gene.... sometimes Ramsey cuz they are....

LOL! Sky! You’re truly a funny guy. You think you’ll be objective enough to agree with me if she “truly erred?” unfortunately the store didn’t have Faithful betrayal when I went this weekend, but I’ll try again next weekend when I’ll have time to watch movies. And I’ll try for sleepwalker too
Guilt? If I remember that movie correctly (and I accept my memory may be faulty) that scene was NOT calling for guilt! Nnam, wasn’t she planning to leave her husband for this guy? So which kain guilt?
Thickmadam Id be very empirical on my judgment. every one feels guilt; esp in dat condition- the man elevated her families status, elevated her..... who would feel guilty of such. Okay lemme agree Gene erred in that scene but how about other scenes(exclude the scene wit the fake tears)

HUH? I’m completely lost with what you’re trying to say here. She’s an actress, so SOMETIMES she might need to loose that controlled thing for her characters is all I’m sayin. I still maintain that ms nnaji will sink ladylike, while tears roll down her cheeks, to the ground and will not throw herself with abandon to the ground and roll around and scream and cry. That’s what I meant by controlled. I didn’t mean in her personal life (focus sky, focus on our conversation) I understood ur area of concern but I chose to diverse cuz I stand on my grounds that rollin on the ground doesnt make any one a better actress. Some people will choose to express anger in quite letting their face carry all the expressions, some will use their body and facial expressions..... thats wat makes them different. I for one dont get carried away in throwin oneself on the ground.... once a director requires Gene to throw her self on the ground, that wouldnt be a task at all..... its a easy tackie

Thank you, 4 years old. I’m talking about movies I’ve seen in the last year and a half or after her ban, choose one. After the ban, she hasn’t seemed to be too interested. How old is LTAS, how old is Sleep Walker, How old is Blood for tears, How old is wind of glory.......? Thickmadam, dont blame an actor for poor scripting

Again Sky, I am talking recently. Yes, when she started, she had fire running thru her veins. Did you forget that I said she was dynamite when she first started? That the nnaji I see now is not the nnaji I saw in the Sharon stone series, rising sun, keeping faith?
Oya sky let me say it again: it is in her recent movies that I have noticed that her passion for acting seems to be waning.
I’ll try to watch a few this weekend if my oga, master UK will allow me chance, hopefully the store will have the recommended movies.
All the names I mentioned (and more) still give kudos to her. Mercy J isnt an exception. Even Nadia and Van give kudos to her till date. She might be allowing stardom get into her head but her act skills are intact though untrained and developed

Sky! C’mon now. I hardly talk about mercy j the way you talk about nnaji! If I made a big fuss as you do, you would wonder if she was paying me.
Exactly, mercy reminds YOU of a younger gene, when gene was still on fire. If she reminded you of an older gene I’d have to wonder what you were watching. Mercy j can have all the role models and mentors she has, I’m just going by what I see right now. If she starts to drop off, I’ll still call it like I see it. i’m not denying that nnaji has talent, she’s got talent otherwise she would not have developed the fan base she has, but I’m just saying that lately, she seems to be B-O-R-E-D.
I know she isnt paying u though anything is possible. She seems to be BORED but she still got that fire! When good roles like LTAS came she didnt habdle it in boredom, did she?

Please bear with me, as soon as I get my hands on the movie, I’ll def watch and let you know where they fell flat for me. Take ur time, am still alive

Cool, thanks. I’ll check for sleepwalker and I actually have My Idol but I haven’t watched it. See it ASAP. Gene and Yemi had a wonderful performance. Cant forget the scene when Gene was in some locked hut... the words she told the guard and d delivery was fire, the last scene was also touching..... Funmo na original critic.... no tel am o!

Thanks sky, but look around the site, there are many "good thinking females" here, we’ve always been here.
There is only one name pumpin into my head..... CHI, the rest will insult u and make their sometimes useful points

Sky!
just wanted to let you know, i started watching Caught in the Act last night, and ok, i'm wiping some egg off my face now.
ms nnaji was good in it.
the housewife was housewifey and the bad girl was bad
i don't see the coldness/control so far.
so far i like.
i'll continue watching tonight.

(just a side note, why do they make housewives to be these weak characters?)

I am not speaking of Ms. Nnaji's performance so all voltrons back up, in my personal opinion the script was not great at all...the circumstances were very contrived.

Good u call a spade a spade.

@ highlighted, dats the showcase a feeble writing though most housewives tend to be weak and husband dependent sometimes

In ur own opinion u wrote- We still have 139million Nigerians to hear from
emmm...actually sky, i side with BB on this one, while nnaji's performance was up to par, the story she was working with wasn't.

i liked the razz character :460:
but she also portrayed the housewife too i think the way most nigerian housewives are perceived.

just once, i want to see a strong housewife who is not a man-eater but has her own mind and can stand up to her meddling mother in law and show her husband that just because you want me to stay home, doesn't mean that you can push me around or we have to kow-tow to mummy's every whim.

don't get me wrong, the story is different, a little, it seems we're back to the "one person play multiple characters" era of nigerian movies.

And whats up with the trend of completely switching from wearing jeans, nice tops to those dready trads once a woman gets married in Nollywood movies????

Such a horrible stereotype!

Well facing facts most Nigerian housewives have their mother in law as their nightmare esp. wen they living under same roof. Nigeria housewives can only be bold enough to challenge their mother in-law wen they are in control of their husband else they will be unnerved by her (esp. the troublesome MI-L). Its a story that has a believable factor nevertheless that area has been exhausted

138million Nigerians to go.....

With the story line u just narrated I think that kinda movie is has been repeated timelessly. Thereforem, im wit u and BB.... 137million Nigerians to go

OHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHH!!
The husband Nonso was so Immature, I wanted to kick his arse!!! This films are truly make caricatures of Nigerian men, in their relationships, either they are women wrapper or mommy's puppet!
Exactly.
i haven't finished the movie, will do so this weekend if his highness UK allows me.
but that was the one thing that irrirated me immediately, like...that is your wife! freaking stand up FOR her.
just because you live in mummy's house, is that why she should treat your wife like a second class citizen?

there was a movie with jim iyke, chioma chukwuka, uche jombo, and ebele okaro, and i loved jim's character. he STOOD up for his wife, for himself, and was going to do something about it but his wife persuaded him otherwise.

i wonder, is the concluding part out yet for this movie?

And over the word of a useless looking man at that? And if you all are so well off, why in the heck are y'all still doing livin' with mama at the family compound? It is the writing, everyone was just jumping to conclusions and screaming out their point of views and they got the king of all acting screamers to do the job for them. I am still baffled why Nonso Diobi is still acting, if na women dey hire am den I fit understand since it seems to be the general opinion that he is fine or something, what is the men's excuse for hiring him? He is a hot head in everything, heck even Michael Ezerounye another victim of Screamitis has tapered down a little. And Nonso was in this business even before Ezerounye and still no improvement. He always tired looking in films like he parties, drinks and smokes in excess, he never looks fresh then he gets mad like someone smoked his last ganga.

Thank God I don't review films anymore or else the persin wey write dis wan for beat my nyash and nakid me for street o.

@ highlighted...what annoys the hell out of me is when the woman persuades her husband not to speak on her behalf thinking that will make the matter worse...how worse can it possibly be when your in-laws are constantly in your face 24/7? Haba! There was one such movie called 'My best friend'....I cannot remember the name of the woman who was being verbally abused by her both the mother in law and sister in law and when the husband tried to intervene, there goes the stupid woman...sometimes, i end up thinking that they actually deserve what they go through with the inlaws...
