There is this yougurt I take as nunu (Habib yougurt)then mix it up with fura 'cos I feel the natural nunu is not hygienic enough considering how its being made by dirty fulanis,so I feel anyway.

I actually used to trek the last lap from the school bus park to my house just to save my money to buy the Fura and Nono from the fulani women along the road to my house!!!!!!! Ha! I was so addicted to that thing it was unbelievable! And I used to be sick a lot those days! RUnning stomach and all that. COme to think of it, I was the only one in my house that always went to Gwash Hospital then in Jos to take drips and treatments! I used up more of our Hospital vouchers and passes than any one else!!!

Hey! Fura de Nono. The thing sure was disease filled sha!! I no lie! The women that sell it were aleays immaculate, clean, pretty and well made, but the milk they carried could very well have had 1,000,000,000 Ecoli in it!!!!!

men, looking back now, God really loves me and has plans for me! Cos, fura de nono and Kunu zaaki and a whole lot of hausa foods dealth woth me back in the day!!

BUT, THE THING SWEET NO BE SMALL!!! Dang!!!

Especially when taken with lots of sugar and with crushed ice inside!!!! - HEAVEN!!

When I go to Naija now, would I take it again? HELL NO!!! Unless I see one that is packaged and have been processed in a lab!!

Actually, it has to be one of the best meals the hausas/fulanis have got. Used to have it a lot when I was growing up in Kaduna back in the 70s. Good food and delicious too! ;)

U can really get packed fura de nunu and u would enjoy it.I've never tasted that raw fura de nunu from the fulanis except from a nice super market then in kaduna or zaria.they would always blend it with blender then add sugar and canned milk if u so wish and u would enjoy it.I always take it with suya.Never enjoyed any thing better than this I tell u.

There is a guy now in the South that studied Food science in Nigeria. He has now created a lab at his home and he is making yogurt and bottling it for sale. He is doing well there in Nigeria. Im glad that be is using his education to produce a product. Maybe the same will be done for Fura de Nonu !!

Mutumi na gaskiya ko...even the packaged ones are not safe AT ALL. You see all sorts of packaged stuff with even NAFDAC registration numbers but look closely...one thing go just dey dance inside for ya. Went to a super market once to get some drinks. Gaskiya Allah kawai ne ya sa ni in duba abin sosai...guess what I saw? Dont even ask. The attendants were just running helter skelter to change the bottle for me. I just thank dem well well come waka. So d best thing for ya is to learn how to make it yourself.

And even if you cant make it yourself, puhlease buy the fura ONLY and dama it properly with peak milk and your ice cubes. You go just dey enjoy.

I make yoghurt myself (not for sale oh) and well I dont flavour it . I just cut apples into bite sizes and throw dem into ma yoghurt. Well here in naija food flavours are sold...vanila, strawberry, banana etc and food colouring too but i have never tried it in ma yoghurt. I will try it and let you guys know.
