Genevieve Nnaji has been making waves internationally for the past couple of years and her hardwork landed her a role in the internationally produced movie adaptation of Half of a Yellow Sun.

To add to an already good year, Genevieve was featured in ELLE.com’s “International Superstars: The Next Big Crossover Acts” List. A list featuring 7 international actresses set to cross over into mainstream American movies and international movies. She is featured alongside Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kim Hyuna fromGangnam Style video, Pixie Lott, Mexican actress Anahí, Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe and Bollywood star Katrina Kaif .
    An excerpt from Elle:

One of the most powerful actresses working in Africa, Nnaji began her career at age eight, and has been constantly working in commercials and movies ever since. She’s credited with putting Nollywood, Nigeria’s Hollywood, on the map. In 2005 she was awarded Best Actress at the inaugural African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), and used her fame to launch her clothing line, St. Genevieve, in 2008 with the proceeds from sales supporting orphanages. And she has the Oprah seal of approval—in 2009 Nnaji was profiled on an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show, with the host referring to her as one of the most popular people around the world and the “Julia Roberts of Africa.” Her latest film, Half of a Yellow Sun, in which she stars alongside British actress Thandie Newton, premieres this year.

Big things from the actress and the recognition is further proof that she is still is the real deal.

I have always loved Genevieve to bits, she's got poise, such a talented actress and I am wondering why HOLLYWOOD hasn't taken her on till date. HOLLYWOOD, its time to put a sister on the WORLD MAP!

Be nice, kolinzo. You know very well she already crossed the bridge. The ball is in Hollywood's court now. Who knows sef how many Hollywood scripts the girl don turned down already unknown to the public. Just continue to wait & see like the rest of us. God don do this one already, kolinzo. No long story here. Unlike that other actress wey....

Let's be honest with ourselves, it seems the bridge to Hollywood was made in China because there isn't anything smooth about it. Aishawara, arguably the most popular name among the lot, has been crossing over since her Miss Universe (or something like that) victory. The moral of the story is that e no easy e!
