Genny Needs A New Game Plan

Genny needs to change her game plan. In other words, she has to feature in more movies than she's been doing lately. Nollywood is being introduced to a growing Western audience and I'm worried that she might be left behind. A lot of the new Nollywood fans (and a substantial amount I must stress) do not know who Genny is. Some claim to have seen her in "a few movies", but do not really know much about her status in the industry. Ini Edo is doing brilliantly in that department. Her movies are all over the place and peeps (new Nollywood fans) are actually becoming really fond of her movies.

Genny I know you're an NR member and you check out this site when you have the time. Please it's time for a new plan. I don't want your era of dominance to end just yet, especially when Nollywood is being exposed to a new Western audience.:(

Thank God you brought this up. I was out shopping all Naija movies that my hands can could land me on(good ones) and I couldn't seem to find any new movie she is featuring in. One little sells girl insulted me by telling me that Genny is on suspension again and thats why they did not have her new movies.
I do not want to believe this and I am hopping that Genny gets to do her thing again. Please save all from "looking for you" with teary eyes,we need a bigger population in your republic.

Thank goodness that the above title " Genny needs a new game plan" came from your mouth. How many times you don accuse folks of been jealous or something up that ally? :teu26: Yes Genny needs a new game plan and the solution is not featuring in more movies.

I've been observing how BENTV or OBE TV have been showing adverts of Nollywood movies being premiered in the UK and they often interview the starts like Olu Jacobs etc. But I seldom see a Genny movie being advertised as being advertised for premiere. Just like you rightly mentioned, her movies are now becoming scare on the market.

I've always been an advocate for quality over quantity, but I've also learned a valuable experience in life that people should be open to flexibility. Life is not just about rigidity. The present climate calls for an increase in the quantity of her movies over a period of time. This will introduce her to the new Nollywood fans, and then she can revert back to making quality movies. She has to do something because this international audience could be beneficial to Nollywood stars. Some of these new fans might want to promote their products in the African market, and Nollywood stars might perfectly fit the bill. Right now, they'll be more likely to go for Ini Edo cos they're more used to seeing her in lots of movies.

maybe that's a strategy in of itself.

Well if it is, it's only working for those of us who already know Genny. It's not working for the new international audience cos they're not aware of her or her status in the industry. I would reasonably say that a change of strategy in highly required.

I was going to reference some of your previous responses on this same subject :teu26:

She does not have flexibility and range for emotions. All I see is the same acting from one movie to another. She needs serious coaching in these areas and Pompom was trying to work with her on this until sansan entered garri. Let me stop here for now before I am accused of you know what :teu26:

So are you implying that Ini Edo has more flexibility in her acting than Genny? That is clearly laughable.:happy024:

Genny needs to appear in more movies in order to introduce herself to the new audience.

The above highligted words are the problem. She is rigid and lacks flexiblity. There are classes for that. Before una enter mass production, Genny needs some coaching classes.

Genny is uptight and Ini is not. You can laugh all you want and please remember that you started this thread.

yeah... i agree.

she definitely needs to try something radically different.

well, i won't say she "needs" to do that, since it doesn't seem like the fans are necessarily complaining so far... but i think she should.

So Ini Edo has more flexibility in her acting than Genny.
I've heard it all on NR.
i don't know if Ini Edo has more flexibility per se, but she definitely has more... warmth, i guess.*

i still stand by my earlier statements that Genny is a cold, aloof screen presence. i just don't feel passion or even affability from her.

*or maybe i just mean "sexiness"?
