as i have already said: it has nothing to do with what i want to believe.

i don't care enough to "want" to believe anything.

i'm not really that big of a Nollywood fan... if the entire Nigerian movie industry disappeared tomorrow, i would be disappointed in the squandered potential but it wouldn't change my life or my movie-viewing habits much at all. how many Nigerian movies do i watch in a year as it is? not a lot...

nor am i stakeholder in Nollywood; i am not a marketer and the marketers are not my father, my brothers or my cousins. what's my own whether or not their business crashes?

what i DO deeply care about and feel invested in--as i have demonstrated time and time again--is honesty and intellectual clarity.

i get frustrated when i see poor writing... bad logic... and people deliberately choosing the accept false arguments just because their heart "wants" to believe the argument's conclusions.

when you can show me an even halfway decent source of evidence to support your claim, i'll have no problem accepting it... as it is, all you have is wishful thinking. and not even the kind of wishful thinking that is appealing because it resembles truth... but that is so full of holes and blatant inaccuracies, but still you choose to believe it just because you want it to be true.

i'll admit... that kind of deliberately blinkered thinking really frustrates me in someone i assume is an adult. i can accept it from a child, of course... not from supposed rational grown folks.

but hey... go ahead and keep repeating it over and over again, saying it is "fact" and looking for oblique blog posts by other people who seem to have as little knowledge of the workings of the movie business as yourself to cosign your unsubstantiated beliefs... it doesn't make it any more true or any more convincing to people like me who live in the *real world*, but if it makes you feel better and helps you sleep at night, i'm happy for ya!
delusion of grandeur again! you must really feel you are that important, otherwise you wouldn't have arrogated so much importance to yourself.
who appointed you judge of good english, well written article et al to start with?

that's none of your GD business, Sisi... my bloated ego is MY own problem, so let ME worry about that.

what you can do for now, though, is either rise to the challenge i presented in the post you quoted or shut the hell up, okay?

thanks and have a GREAT day!

tell the above lie to your clique.

well it is not just between me and shehonourable, but you also.

you are always quick to call me a tribalist just becos i dont share your views. you a tribalist calling another person one! wonders shall never ceize (sp) on nr. am a tribalist, yes i agree. at least am proud to identify with my own tribe unlike you who is a coward.

just becos the issue involved surrounds ur ibo marketers, you are too biased to say the truth. a truth that is obvious to most of the pple (except for a few clowns like you and chi, shehonourable + skyflies). for you to blatantly refuse what is obvious to majority of pple shows your opinions on other issues are not to be taken serious.

you stay here and practice selective believe system. once an article favours you, you are least bothered about its source. but let it be what you don't want to hear, you want to confirm the source first!

another style you use is to determine who is an authority in the movie industry. the other day, becos sola fosudo shared an opinion that portrays ur views, you automatically saw him as an authority. but then, the likes of the kelanis and femi ogendemgbes, the same yemi solade you quoted are no authority, but to you, they must be frustrated to have aired some views. it is a pity anyone can hide behind the internet to rant, otherwise, i would have wanted to compare ur cv vis a vis those of the ogendemgbes and kelanis whom you see as being frustrated.

the yemi solade you used as a reference point the last time you replied to my post, i helped you (knowing you are always confused and too lazy to make research anyway. afterall, only ur laziness and confused state of mind could have made you allege i was the person canvasing for genocide against your tribe!) to copy and paste an interview he gave narrating his experience in the hands of some ibo producers/marketers. all that came from you was a golden silence!

anyway, in the land of the blind, a single eyed person is their king! no wonder chi, skyflies and shehonourable(who is a tout and so proud to flaunt that identity off to the world) have made you king!!!
as for me ts, am too intelligent for your level. continue to sell your half baked knowledge to the subjects in ur kingdom. they sure have been believing you and i predict it would take a whole lot of time of education before their iq could improve.
i'm going to be upfront and honest with you here, Sisi... i only read about half of this post before replying.

i had to stop reading because the more i read, the more it offered diminishing returns in terms of actual sense and substance.

but i'll comment on the portion i was able to slog through.

you say that i call you a tribalist because you disagree with me... this is incorrect. i call you a tribalist because you ARE a tribalist. you admit as much yourself, and as i said before, i recall you openly fantasizing about slaughtering Igbos on this board.

yes... you are a tribalist. and as i opined before, you are a disgusting and extremely ugly excuse for a human being.

that is MY opinion... others are free to disagree and tell me you are a sweetheart. i think you're a horrible person whose face i would be greatly honored to spit a thick concentration of phlegm into should i ever encounter you in the flesh.

but as i said before: that is neither here nor there.

you say i am a "coward" because i have chosen not to identify and "represent" my tribe in this thread, but you see, there is a reason for that...

unlike you, i understand that THIS IS NOT ABOUT ME.

i'm not here to engage in tribal wars or to be the crusader for any tribe... either confront me with truth and logic, or leave me be.

(I'll admit: if i were you, i would take the second option.)

and please... while we are on the issue of fact and truth: please point out an instance where i embraced an article that was not properly sourced just because it supposedly supported my views.

also, show me where i ever called Tunde Kelani "frustrated"... i recall speaking of some Yoruba actors that i know on a personal level and saying, yes, that they were frustrated and they couldn't accept the simple fact that their scripts (which i read and you didn't) sucked... i will stand by that until Armageddon.

i never said that about TK or Femi Ogendemgbe, though. (i don't even know who Femi Ogendemgbe is in the first place!)

Thickmadam is my girl for real, but i don't agree with what she has said.

Obama is the president elect and it's a wonderful thing... but it didn't happen by magic. and he didn't win just because people decided "let's have a black president in the name of unity."

he won because he was the best candidate, who offered the best argument and the best vision for the future.

and it's not like now that he's won that the world is going to suddenly change and become all rainbows and unicorns.... there is going to be a LOT of struggle, a LOT of fighting to get to where we all HOPE to be.

it's the same thing here... there are certain issues that need to be hashed out, and just sweeping them under the carpet in the name of "unity" is not going to solve anything.

i say we air it out.

i personally shall try to exclude myself from the kind of highly personal mudslinging that seems to be going on between Sisi and Honourable, but where anybody presents anything under the guise of an actual argument... yes, i will step up to vet it (if i feel like it, anyway).
you try to compare obama's situation to what obtains in nollywood?

let me help you out again: so benedict johnson for instance is the best person in the whole country for those roles he is casted for?.this is someone majority of your movie reviewers here on nr say he can not act to save his life.

tell me, how come that other than your idol genny and a few artists, most of the artists iin emg get knocked here for their bad acting skills?

speaking from both corners of ur mouth as usual.

i would repeat what you dont want to hear i.e. most of emg practitioners (not the wannna bes like you) have been singing one song, 'nollywood instead of growing has become a stunted baby,( all becos professionalism has been thrown to the dogs and ethnicity is the name of the game!!!).

it is my biz or is it difficult for you to also swallow your pill?

you, that could come here and wash pple down saying some are not logical in their reasonings or frustrated etc, feel you are untouchable?.

co-opt your teachers into explaining the contents of all my posts to you (since it is obvious you are a bad student who does not learn nor grasp things easily), as i think i have given you enough answers if only your brain would function for once.

okay... first of all: i have no clue what you are even talking about.

if a simple analogy is above your comprehension, that is the failure of those who educated you... not me. it's not my wahala to deal with.

second: "your idol Genny"? ummm... are you talking to me? since when has Genny been my idol? i've actually been very vocal about the fact that i actually don't even LIKE Genny that much.

i'm convinced that you are just spewing out anything that comes to your head with no regard for reason at all.

as i said before: if you've got nothing worthwhile 9or on-point) to say to me, just don't say anything at all.

alright, sweety?

well, if my saying the truth makes me a tribalist, so am i. i dont want any fake and dishonest friend around me, especially some faceless ones who are too timid to speak the truth.
am a tribalist for staying on the side of truth, yeah!!!. since you see me this way, i am proud to let you know i have accepted the tag to prove to you, your opinions about me don't matter to me for you are a nobody!!!!!!!!!!.

it takes a horrible person sometimes to be able to identify another horrible one. i quess you see a replica of you in me, don't u? you must be twice as horrible anyway becos that is the aura ur online personalty portrays. it is only wicked pple that delight in twisting the truth and instigating pple against the one speaking the truth.
am used to ur names calling and just to prove to you it takes nothing away from me in whatever way, am still alive, breathing and can still stand up to you!

again, to prove to the whole world that i did canvass genocide against your pple, can you pls upload that post of mine, you coward?
and can you also let us take this a step further like I said once i.e. identify yourself and I would do the same and then, we take the matter further up?

so you knew femi ogedemgbe on a personal level and he confessed to you he was frustrated? otherwise why generalize the reaction of 'your' yoruba pple that you know on personal levels to all of the others whose articles are posted here on nr?

as for the other question, i think you shd rather ask: why dont i ask for the sources of the articles i have certified to be speaking the truth here?
this is becos to me, you jump in and contribute into those ones without any restraint as to their sources, but then let it be an article that does not respect ur views, the first thing you ask for is; where is the source?

oh dull student, i shd be of help and not too harsh. dont worry i would break down my point to ur level.

according to ur comparison of obama's win to nollywood situation, so:

obama won - becos he was the best and not for colour

benedict johnson for instance - gets casted becos he is the best the country could offer at the particular time of casting!

yeah, right.

i see it.

so, ummm...

where did i ever even mention Benedict Johnson, you weirdo?

first of all... i never said anywhere in this post that i was Igbo.

i've not said anything about being a member of ANY tribe.
in fact, i explicitly stated that i am completely uninterested in tribal affairs in Nigeria. it's never been a major defining factor in my life... and it is less so today.

what i DO care about is FACT and REASON. and my issue here is that i have not seen you exhibiting either one of them.

secondly: i NEVER intended to deal with Nollywood marketers on ANY level... it has nothing to do with what tribe they are from; they just don't represent the kind of presentation i have ever wanted for my work... that has never even been an issue for me, so don't worry about that.

third: the bolded statement by you above:

is that not the diametric opposite of your persistent argument that the Igbo marketers' business/casting decisions are fueled entirely by tribal loyalties?

somehow, you've managed to turn around 180 degrees and come to the position that i have been stressing since: the marketers' main concern is MONEY... not tribe.

you've gotten to the point where you are contradicting yourself... that's what happens when you refuse to start your argument from a strong rational base... your emotions will blow you left and right until you are facing the opposite direction to where you started!
haven't i said it severally on nr that this guy is confused? someone that identified himself as being yoruba on the femi ogedemgbe's thread is here denying ever making any tribe allegiance.

you claimed to be a non-igbo even thou i knew you were lieing (sp) thru ur teeth.

the happening involved ur tribe and u decided to tribalize everything rather than weigh it from an objective point of view.

you dullard, you mean i shd break down the meaning of - for instance to you again?

anyway, you gave an obama analogy to butress the happening in nollywood and i queried that analogy by asking you, so benedict happens to be the best in the country for example anytime he is casted?

hope you understood it better this time around (i wonder how long it took you to graduate at the university as you must have been one of those 'f' always students, hmmmmmmmmmm!)

no... what i said in the Femi Ogedemgbe thread is that you don't know what tribe I am from--you have continued to assume that i am Igbo, but i have never confirmed this. for all you know, i may be Yoruba like you.

unlike the coward you who has failed to upload where i canvassed genocide against ur pple, am going straight away to search for ur post on the ogedemgbe's thread (hope you have not rushed there to try and edit it though), just to prove you are as confused as u portray yourself here on nr.

once again: no, dumbass.

my Obama analogy hasd nothing to do with the state of the Nollywood.
it was about the state of the NR forum.

it was a response to Thickmadam's suggestion that the spirit of unity expressed by Obama's election should be carried over to the boards, and hence, people should stop arguing.

and i replied that Obama didn't win just because people decided to be united... Obama won because he had the best argument. and as such, we should continue to argue here, and let the best argument win.

i don't blame you, though... i know that the english language is not your strong suit.

i personally had retired from the discussion until this individual opted to pull me back in!

yes, yes... i know i should be the bigger man here, and this name-calling is probably way beneath me... but it's the only language this person understands.

besides... i'm just having fun; it's Friday evening, Obama floored 'em at his press conference, and i'm looking forward to downing a couple of shots of tequila in celebration!

in the meantime, i'll amuse myself by sparring with this dimwit.

okay... a few things:

1. "those same script writers"?

sweetheart, you don't even KNOW the scriptwriters i read, so how can you say "those same script writers"?

oh... you mean the fact that they are Yoruba?

look... i don't engage in groupthink... i don't evaluate people's worth by their tribe or racial origin. i don't group people together by tribe, either.

i am talking about the individual writers whose work i read (and who just happened to be Yoruba) and not Yoruba writers in general.

i have not read EVERY Yoruba writer's work, so i would have to be a very stupid person to deem to speak on ALL of them. only very small minds judge people as GROUPS.

(you seem very comfortable with it, though... go figure)

*for the record, though: i think Tchidi Chikere is a vastly superior writer to Tade and TK. not that i consider him to be "one of my people," of course... he's just a writer who i admire
for all you know, i am Yoruba like you!!!! (if this is not what you meant, then i must be right you are not just someone that speaks from both sides of the mouth, but a sure 'F' student all through school)!
