Is It Really Fair?

I've been hearing different and conflicting reports about the personality of some of our foremost movie celebs. Some have accused them as snobs, while others have described them as nice and down-to-earth types.conflicting reports, you might say of the same people, but from different sources.
My question is this,"CAN WE REALLY EXPECT THE STARS TO BE NICE AND ATTENTIVE TO ALL?"
Is is fair to expect such a demeanour from them?Afterall, one can't be nice and approachable to all.Movie celebs are humans too and just because we heard that they are nice, does not mean that they have to be nice everyday to everybody including ourselves. That will be putting too much burden on them, methinks.

the fans r nt sayin they should be nice at all times, but even though one of dem actors/actresses dnt wanna talk to us, atleast they say hi. (nt like some who r just been totally rude)

That is fair enough, but what if the fans happen to catch them in a bad mood, you know.out of badluck.Stars will have their off days, mannerwise, you know;)

Words are filtering in that Nnaji has turned snobbish and rude and all that.I haven't met her in person so i will give her the benefit of the doubt.
But is that understandable,if that is true, that she has started acting that way?Maybe she can't handle being a superstar.

Of course it's fair...that's the price they pay

Movie stars must understand that once you are in the public eye the price you gain is burden and hassle from the public and the media. These so called stars in their own right should learn to humble themselves especially in a precarious industry such as showbizz and in a country(like Nigeria) were no ones film career is safe as houses.

Perhaps they should concerntrate on improving their acting skills instead of trying so hard to be snobbish for the wrong reasons.

This is all dependent on whether the rumour is true or not...if it's false...then I apologise in advance!

They are only humans like the rest of us.If you get so many admirers and so much publicity,it goes to the head.Even if the snobbishness is out of character and it just happened in a flash,it gets blown out of proportion by people.

Exactly! None can please all, even Christ himself didn't. So there's no way our movie stars can please all. Never!.

The most important thing is manners. Ordinary ''hi" to friends can never put ones dignity to shred I guess.

what should the stars do when their fans choose to talk to them in uncomfortable situations like

THE FOLLOWING SITUATIONS ARE ACTUAL EVENTS THAT HAPPENED TO SOME STARS I KNOW.

1. While trying to run into the bathroom to answer the call of nature (sebi them sef get to piss or do number 2.)

2. In the hospital while waiting for his wife to be wheeled into the theater for surgery.

3. In church while kneeling on their knees to beg God for favor.

4. while trying to rush through airport checks to board a flight leaving in 10 mins (the fan is the airline employee who is there to check you in)

5. While standing by the side of the road looking under the hood of your car that just gave up on you (again).

6. While Running to get to their car in the parking lot under pouring rain.

7. At the funeral service of one his closest friends.

I beg I figure you get the gist by now. The stars are human too and need some space sometimes. Some situations are not just ideal for greeting and meeting the fans. I know that they are mostly happy to mingle because they know how fickle the buisness is and they always realize that you are only as good as your last movie.
(No mind them, the day wey nobody recognise star for road you go see them stand outside until somebody recognise them and greet them. Na true o.)

:D :D

I think it would be expecting too much to believe that the stars would be nice all the time. Even we ordinary folk have times when we don't want to see anyone, when we would cross the street to avoid talking to a particularly effusive person. To say that is the price they have to say is being a tad snobbish too. So because they are stars, they shouldn't be accorded the same rights of privacy that others have?
Imagine being a star and meeting some fifty fans everyday, each one wanting a little chat, a little handshake. Imagine being on location for four days, without sleep and proper feeding, then the minute you step off location to stagger home, some fan decides he want to discuss how many movies he has seen you in? You'll almost bite that person's head off.
They can only do so much.

Videoscope ....don't recall saying "the price they say"...did remember saying "the price they pay"
...moving on...U have a point in saying that people sometimes have their moments...I am in the broadcasting and fashion business and can understand to some degree how people sometimes need to be by themselves!
However people are responsible for choosing their own career paths, therefore a career path such as "show business" warrants automatic fan attraction..(without the fans...they are nothing...they buy their films). Whilst I also believe that people are human and are entitled to some privacy...I also believe that it is the price paid for being the public eye!:D

As for the rest of you...see above!!! I'd be repeating myself if I had to explain this to each one of you.!
Regards:D

I heard about Genevive being snobbish, I quite agree to some extent, I mean I read one of her interviews, and she was being asked like reasonable questions and her responses were slap worthy. I mean come on now, no be the same girl wey dey sell pepper for roadside, na him we put phoney for him out, cloth for him body, him come forget where him come from....

As per celebrities having off days, its the price you pay for fame, yea sometimes you're so caught up in yourself, but the way I see it, the fans are your life, if you're in a bad mood smile and walk away, dont ignore people or shove them off like ants. We dont pay you tons of money just to be yourself on stage, now serve us

That's a slap down, if ever I heard one... and I don't know if you're a star or not.;) Let's give others the same priviledges we allow ourselves.
Like Sola says, be well.

Please her a break!

Please give Genevieve a break! If you worked as hard as she does, I doubt you would take kindly to anyone implying that the things you bought with the money you earned was not deserved, which was what that interviewer was doing. I work very hard myself and not too long ago, some man tried to patronizingly imply that he pitied the man whose arm I had twisted to get my phone! Needless to say, I gave him a piece of my mind.
I have nothing against people who can get stuff like a car from a man, but when a girl works hard, please give her credit and let her enjoy it:o

Sweetheart I see where you are coming from, I mean we all work hard to get all we have even those of us that depend on men to get all we have. My point still remains, she was rude, pity I didnt save the interview, or know how to get it. You could smell rudeness all over it, if she didnt want the interview, she should have said SORRY O, I CANT SEAT WITH YOU.

Back to more important things...What do think, when you hear a name like Rita St.Hayden!!!! Think deep people, DEEPPPP
