IF the white establishment doesn't hand out awards to black actors, its problem and if they give it, it's a problem because it's to the wrong person and for the wrong role. I've never seen white folks fighting like these over who gets an award and for what reason. They pat each other on the back and say you deserve it even if they might think the person really didn't do that great a job or they did do a good job but the vehicle was weak. Na wa o for black people.

Jobs as leads in films are hard enough to come by for established actors period talkless of up and coming or unknown actors but we are still complaining forgetting that the Jennifer Hudsons of this world are a source of encouragements to thousands who know that entertainment is their calling but are finding it hard to get a foot in the right doors. Tyler Perry is giving her a chance to really establish herself as an actress albeit he's not breaking new grounds/breaking out a new star in regards to giving a complete unknown a chance but he's giving JHud a chance to be a lead that Oyingbo no give am even after the Oscars...what was her first role after - Sarah Jessica Parker's assistant in Sex In The City. It may not be a bad film to be in but which oyinbo actress don win oscar then went on to a small role in a star filled movie like Sex In The City?

Let us all be happy black women are working period - Sanaa, Alfre, Jhud - let's be happy that they can pay their rent this next couple of months and stop fussing about who is lead over who because trust me those sisters don't give a darn - they just want to be working! I bet you if Omotola/GNaj (here comes the avalanche)/ Rita Dominic were given that role and Sanaa/Alfre were playing their supporting cast, no one here will be screaming that these ladies don't deserve it. We will all be jubilating and talkin' about how Nollywood don land etc etc.
