Benin that really made me laugh.
Believe me there are plenty of fine Naija actresses that would love to act alongside our many fine AA brothas but brothas gotta help us open those door tho cos they seem to be doing quite well now in Hollywood.
The lead actor, Jimmy Jean-Louis, plays Tunde. He is of Haitian decent. Chet Anekwe has a small role in the movie opposite Monique but was not cast as the lead.
I totally agree. The brothas need to start looking out for the sistas more. And as for getting more Naija women into the Hollywood crossover, I have a feeling that someday soon, Wesley Snipes will be coming to the rescue of one of our beautifully talented and featured Naija women, to sweep them off to Hollywood to play wifey or Lil Momma with him in some new project of his!! Hummm, I wonder who will be the lucky contestant? :cool-smil
Actually there was a time I heard something about Denzel Washington doing a movie in Nigeria or about Nigeria or something. I think it was last yr. Maybe it was a rumour
As for Wesley Snipes he needs to study the actresses from their movies before hand to see who he'd like to work with.
African women have acted in numerous roles along side British men and European men so our American brothas need to get to the African talents fast because when oyinbo gets their hooks in it's a done deal cos they have too much influence.
The part I don't understand in the whole matter is how Pompom is gon' come in here and tell us that brotha (CBA) is SINGLE. I mean, how? Infact Genevieve if you come in here to read, I have to say-If you couldn't hold the brotha down after all that movie chemistry, wo! I'm verlay verlay disappointed. You can't let this kind go like that ***Crystalgirl winks furiously*** Don't you mind Joi, she no threat!
@ Cindy, hope you have a chipped DVD player odawise its a waste of time asking for an american dvd. The thing tire me and I'm trying my best to stay away from pirates. Its hard when you really want to watch your "coffee" movies...oh well such is life.
@ part in red: Nope, that was Wesley Snipes. Last year he visited Naija and met with some folks from Nollywood (actors and directors) and stated that he wanted to help bridge the gap between Hollywood and Nollywood and all this other interesting stuff. He once used to live in Naija with his mother back when he was just a boy, and he also performed in one of Soyinka's old plays. So he has somewhat of an connection to the nation.
Oh my bad. Does Wesley still have clout in Hollywood since it's been a while he did any good movies?
we shall wait and see how his plans matierializes.
Of course he still has clout.
