i just wasn't interested *shrug*
i haven't seen Titanic, nor Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
just no interest at all.
i have seen all the harry potter movies though, if that helps.
LOTR is a guy movie, so that I understand, but Titanic and Avatar are also chic flicks. You should see Titanic. You would love it. You're sentimental like that. As for Avatar, you're letting the look of the characters put you off. Its actually fairly well executed and works. See both jo.
.....Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Never seen that myself either.
You should, especially The Two Towers. Its a visual feast.

Ah, Supermommy, you know say una no dey like all dis hacking and chopping movies now. The battle scenes alone will usually turn off most ladies, from my experience. But there are the ladies with an adventurous spirit o. I guess you're in the latter category?

Why not? You're not even giving it a chance? VB surprises me though...I would have expected him to want to see it if only for the cinematographic spectacle that only a filmmaker of Cameron's clout can bring to the screen. But he lost the pleasure of seeing it on the big screen already, so he might as well toss the DVD in the trash. Avatar needs to be big-screened to be appreciated.
Oga Sola seriously all my friends have asked if I'm mad!!! James Cameron is an absolutely amazing filmmaker. Sometimes the hype of a film I don't 'really' want to see totally kills it for me. I have only ever seen two Harry Potter movies and will NEVER EVER watch one again. Have never told this story here before but it is kinda funny. And as I'm in a very happy & ranting mood here it is...

The first HP film I saw was when it first started and the 2nd was for a final year 'individual' project. I told the lecturer Mrs K.S. to shove it because I was not going to do it, about a quarter of the class also refused. My year of London Metropolian University Film & Broadcast Production students were a bunch of pretentious, obnoxious (excuse my french) f*ckwits.
We 'suposedly' knew more than they did and we were annoying because we could be as we had been told on 'Day 1 - Induction Day 1' that nothing in our entire first year would count towards our final result; their fault, they shouldn't have told us that. Week 1 - Induction and Day 1 Wk 2 our other 'beef' with them was "What??!! We don't shoot on 16mm film here??? WTF???" How silly and uniformed we were. Duh? It was a 'Degree' not a 'Film School' as we thought it should be! We had to shoot our entire course on Sony PD150's aspect ratio 4:3... not even a 'true' 16:9 camera... we were livid.

And to crap on us even more, the year ahead of us were the last students to have the name 'Guildhall University'... holy smoke we were gonna be called 'London Metro-shitty-politan University Graduates'. You changed the name because you joined up with 'North London crap University' for Govt. money? You freaking sell-outs.

See me o! Bushman from Ohafia that had never touched a camera in my life!! The first day they gave us these cameras and said "Turn them on and set them up?" We said "What? Aren't you going to show us how?"
Their response "We don't show you anything here, you learn fast, you learn hard, you expand your mind yourself or you sink... read your damn Hand-outs." Ten mins later the class of idiots found the on/off button.

The lecturers hated us, we hated them back and we spent our entire first year in the pub arguing film with City Bankers that we also hated; they were chasing 'our' girls and we insulted the sh*t out of them and their pompous rich girls. We guys were so smug because our, then-called Dept of Communication girls hated them too. We also won the second round because they paid for the drinks all day and all night; imagine the tossers bragging that their shirts cost £500-1000.00 each AND they would take the piss out of the name change from 'Guildhall University' - anyway the course was changed the next year; new rules for first year students lol.

We Ngerian students were a wicked lot, we would talk rubbish all day, debate against the lecturers in every class... especially 'Hippie Chick' she didn't shave her legs, arms, armpits and probably hoo-haa too... did not have a single electrical appliance at home, did not send her two kids to school and we bet her little bag slung around her shoulder must have been full of weed... how the freaking frack did a tree-hugging-woman that really believed all human beings have to go back to living in trees become a Professor? And all her by-force-1styr modules didn't have a damn thing to do with FILM!!! But we Nigerians read the hell out our books all night; count or no count, rule or no rules... we needed our A's. Oga if I had found this site during my first year you would have banned me and deleted my account within a month hahahaha.

The 75% of our class that returned for the 2nd year came back as 'saints'... now it really did matter. I was super-good but still very stubborn.

Back to my 2nd Harry Potter film for a final yr project. As I said I was stubborn... a Peer-support student, Welcome Week Student & working for the Uni from 2nd year but... stubborn. I had to take the resit or not graduate in 2007, a resit result cannot be higher than a 'B' grade... all other students got to pick their topic from 3 different films. Mrs K.S. was not going to let me do the resit unless I did the 'NEW' harry Pooter film... I had to... blood, sweat and totally vexed... it so worked out... I got the higest 'A' grade she had given out that year... she wasn't such a biatch afterall.

Ok, I'm going to look for our numerous weird & wacky cinemas and film clubs to see if any will be showing Avatar again... some sometimes do crazy stuff like that. Hope my long yakety-yack has given someone a wee chuckle!

EDIT. Pls if you want to respond to this pls, pls, pls don't cut/paste it all. Jeez, I've only just seen how long it is. Eye dey hurt me... Pray for me instead.

Dude reportedly spent roughly 10years waiting for certain techs to advance to a point before he could make the movie. If nothing else, you will appreciate its tech. The guy work men...

Absolutely. Some of the things in it were almst exact copies of drawings he had made... I think in his 20's... a lot of HIS life is in it. There was a really good doc about him on TV a while ago... if I remember what it was called I'll let you know.
