Looks promising, especially for what it can do at the price. I haven't been a Sony fan since the 80s when they dominated everything video. Maybe its time to check them out again...

E no matter wetin dem take shoot the advert...but I think nah slip up when dey allow another brand appear for the BTS video...abi sony no get 4K cam?
Just like the PR nightmare for Microsoft when they were launching one of the windows platform, the DJ they invited to play was DJing with Macbook, they had to use tape to cover the apple logo on the dudes laptop.

It's not the same thing though and the microsoft blunder was not a BTS video. And it also isn't a PR slip up by showing whatever you shot on in your BTS. You do realise Sony didn't shoot the advert even though they commissioned it? Sony made a much classier advert that didn't need the plane painted with their logo or the skydivers all wearing Sony outfits and so on. They already have a HUGE name unlike GoPro that must have their logo on your shoelace sef ;)

Ok let's look at the Nikon advert you posted. Why did Nikon make 'we shot the entire commercial on it' a big part of their selling point? Because prior they have so lagged behind in the DSLR video-capable game by releasing rubbish after rubbish cameras when they were infact the first with the D90. So it was a BIG DEAL for them to say that... Oh and by the way many other commercials have said the exact same thing yet it turns out to be *ahem* a completely different camera used... just saying.

No worry about wetin they take shoot unless they specifically want to use it as a selling point like Nikon did in this ad. Na Internet trolling start the "Shoot your spot with the camera you are selling" and those trolls are the ones that never have any works to show... for real. Don't mind them, no let them feed you their silly ideas... oh they have none.

I don't even think RED or Arri shoot all their spots with their own cams. They can but they do division of labour and usually hire a filmmaker that they think will do the best job of making their advert.

I know Sony didn't shoot the commercial......you actually believe this BTS video just got out there without Sony's approval?

Do you think Sony care what it was shot on? No they don't.

And the previous analogy isn't wrong... remember you said -

Which means 'Ah they didn't shoot with their own product, na bad thing be that'. Well people that make milk don't make cameras so as they need to use their own product to sell their own product, according to what you said above, then they should just hose us down with their product... they can do that, na milk.

I don't know how you deduced me saying people should shoot commercial with milk from my above statements???
Anyway I also said it doesn't matter what they shot it with but I would have cut those couple of scenes from the BTS where they showed the RED cam..the scenes no even reach 5 seconds sef.
Even in an interview they had with the sony rep about the 4K cam, when they asked her about the capability of editing 4K footage..she replied that Sony Vegas, and some other editing software were now capable of editing 4K, even though Premier, Avid and Final Cut are more widely used by professionals she couldn't mention them by name..all nah PR.

Hahaha you no well ;)

I get what PR is. Don't pull your hair out over the BTS, oh dear, I don't even think they were using Sony computers in the BTS. Sony doesn't care about that either. Yes I saw the trade show video.. it's a 'Trade' show. Go to any trade show and talk to any Rep all you'll get out of most is "Our brand this, our brand that" and that's what trade shows are all about. This na ad and BTS... yeah same company, different things. A BTS is is harldy ever made primarily with brand promotion in mind, no yawa.

Oh boy, it's all going 4K mad. The problem is shooting and storing the amounts of data 1.5GB a minute is not funny at all.
That's the biggest drawback, to me, storage and workflow. Just bought an external hard drive (1 terabyte) last year...will be getting another soon

Even with 'common' HD my drives fill up anyhow. See if you can cost in like 2 drives on each gig and give your client all the stuff on a drive... you get to keep one too. Some clients do go for that. The good thing is drives get cheaper and cheaper but storage still isn't a funny thing.
