I pledge to Nigeria my country
To be faithful loyal and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strenght
    To defend our unity
And uphold and honor our glory
    So help me God.

Alright who are we kidding? To be faithful loyal and honest? Serve Nigeria with all my strenght? Since when??:roll

If you will re-write Nigeria pledge what will you take out what will be the new truthful lines?

I know anyone that mention line 2 and 3 should be smacked for shizzle!

What will be your new National Pledge.

I do not know, Hubs, are we kidding anyone?

The Pledge of Nigeria is for those who wish to work towards an ideal. It is not a statement of what is, it is a statement which every Nigerian individual is called to align with. I am not kidded! We are not there yet! Many do not believe it is a posibility! Even though we call God to "So help us"!

If I would change anything in it, It will have to be the fifth line, which I will change into:
To make Nigeria Honourable and Glorious!

Perhaps then, Nigerians would realise, the pledge is an affirmation of the work one intends to do, and not the sit down and chop a meal that has already been cooked by some others at some other time!

    So help us God!
