@bolded...I hope that doesn't become true. I like to see star power at events,( and when I see pics of her at events, I'm not wondering why she's there, unlike some folk I feel would climb through an AC vent, just to be seen/photographed at an event), but I also would like to see her back in movies.
Excuse me o, barbs. Don't you think that's a little selfish on our part?.......that we want to see her doing only what we want her to do. Let's not forget she's a human being, and she's free to decide if she wants to remain in acting or she wants to be a mega-super star like Oprah. Personally, I think she should tell Nollywood and the marketers to kiss her behind. They are nothing but a bunch of ungrateful people aynway.

Just saying..........

Daheyull???

What's wrong with me wanting to see Genny in some good movies???...Comprehension guys...try it sometimes.

In case you don't know what also means, here's a dictionary definition- Also: in addition, besides.

Translation, I don't mind seeing her at events, but in ADDITION to that, I would like to see her in some good movies.

Try and read, before you type.

Yeah, but we can't say we have a movie industry if we don't produce movies for cinema viewing, kolinzo? Producing home videos straight to VCD does a movie industry not make. If nollywood is to be compared to Hollywood, Bollywood and other top movie industries across the globe, it MUST produce movies for the big screen and enmasse. There is no other way.
As for direction, i don't even think that as an issue. Proper directors are a given in any movie industry.
Well I disagree with the "Cinema makes movie industry" thing. What would you say then when cinemas close down, in the future, and movies are directly streamed to your TV/laptop? What makes a movie industry is the activity involved which include acting, selling, buying etc. I do share your view, somewhat, but I want to believe the marketers are not daft, knowing fully well they LOVE MONEY, and they would have all gone cinema if it was that easy -we have over 150million people in Naija and if the marketers can only target 10million that's a lot of money.

And as for direction, I only put that there because I'm optimistic about successful cinema but worried about the crap we bring out quite often. Proper directors are very hard find in Naija so when corporations bring out crapollo movies, like they do now, who is going to pay to watch? We have a long way to go and truthfully we are getting there.
