They won a football match... how does that make them 'heroes'? Ok, even if they are... why give them land and titles? Please let him go and do something for the 'Aluu 4' families. Hisssssssss!

It is the tradition to celebrate our national heroes. GEJ's predecessors did it so nothing is new here. Aluu 4 is not a national tragedy so let the governor of that state take care of them.

make dem no tief one poor man's land give them o.
they can give them 1 million naira each, GEJ can sneeze out of his left nostril with no side effects but it's the land i'm questioning.

You don't hand out tax-payers' money as gifts. Its supposed to be used to better the life of the generality of the people, not individuals. What you do in this case is create an environment whereby private individuals and corporate agencies can fill in to give them things and provide services free to them. As for the land you're holding in trust for all of us, who the heck are you to give it out free? From which account does the money for it come from? It isn't only the directionless Jonathan that's the issue though, some other moron started it years ago, but someone should break the stupid habit. Even the national honours they're doling out...there is no respect for it anymore since they just spread it around like butter on bread. Oshisko...

How many people are going to throw money? The president, adenuga, delta state, Lagos state. How about high school sports programme or collegiate sports or a boys & girls club to develop future athletes.

That's what the clowns in power should have been doing in the first place, then victory wouldn't be a once in 20yrs affair. And the victory would be its own reward, above all. The private sector would hire them to promote products and reward them with stardom and the perks that go with it.
