I think people who argue that homosexuality is a choice miss the point. Sometimes its a choice, sometimes its not. It could be biological. Afterall, people are born conjoined, or with 8 toes, or allergic to the sun, etc, etc. If people can have biological defects, and some very wierd ones at that, why not "sexual defects" like homesexuality? The problem is not whether or not people are born that way. Its their refusal to see it as a defect that is the problem. Just as 6 toes are not normal and would be stared at as an aberration, homosexuality is the same thing - an aberration. That is the point, regardless of the source.
LOL, who doesn't need fixing these days?? Its a waste of time, energy and resources trying to establish fixing situation to people sexual choices or mannerism. It seems to me like you think we have a definite prototype of human nature we need to follow in fixing people. Should we follow the nature of Jesus (which by the way some people believes its blasphemous to think he has sexual relationship 'is there anything that says Jesus can't have sex?'). I'm sure some apologetic will like to kill on that alone... kill in the name of the Lord. :spiny:

(Religious people just make me wonder sometimes. Instead of looking for a way whereby people can live amicably, they will start stirring things up in the name of God).

Lets forget about gay people for a minute. Maybe we need to fix the way some people voice gets on my nerves when they sing or the way some people laughs.. Or should I send a co-worker to rehab, because she like to hug unnecessarily. Thats kind of remind of the movie "Hot Fuzz" where the elders of the town start killing all those who seem mis-normal so that the town will be happy with "normal" (murderers) people and the town wins best normal town of the year. I digress.

The point is, we need to take a hike from self indulgence of our own existence and start to see that God didn't creates robots that acts all the same. It is nature, you try to fight against it you only break your own neck.

By the way, talking of fixing, atleast some gay people who thinks they should be woman went under knives and get gender changes, yet people still scream abomination. Maybe they went the wrong way doing the fixing, like making a Daddy out of a fag by all means.

Randy Jackson ke? Not the one in jackson five abeg?sweat: or you may be referring to the one on idol. funny thing is that before idol i never heard of Randy Jackson. As for Luther V, it was an open book that he was one....not that i cared much of his life...i hear the man was so quarrelsome...may he rest in peace though...as for declaring themselves, they can hide in the closet for all I care...i will not go out of my way and make bad comments to them when I see them around….but that kind of lifestyle disgusts me so very much.
Nooooooo, the Randy Jackson that sang "ROooooooooooock with me tonight for old time sake" and "You are my lady, you're everything I need and more....You are my lady" You know the guy, man...just saw him a few months ago at a restaurant in Harlem.

I have had this argument here on NR almost one year ago. There is some scientific evidence of homosexuality in animals, and it is possible that people could be born gay, in a defective way. Since the basis of existence is reproduction, a "gay" species, in the biological sense of the word, would die off since it would be unable to sustain itself. So from this standpoint, homosexuality is a biological defect. But biological no less... Meaning, in some cases, it would exist devoid of choice.

I was throughly attacked here on NR for this point of view. That God does not make mistakes, God does not make sin, God would never allow it to happen, etc, etc, etc...

Take a look at that thread here

Just nice to see that a religious person can also see things from a scientific point of view...
Disney... (I just think its kinda funny to say that) Sidney.. I went on that thread for a minute and its full of people talking through their asses.. You know the smell of fart only produces what you put inside. There are people who aren't open minded to see the difference the world is made of. Christians especially are very close minded hypocrites that will judge someone based on their understanding of bible stories while they cover their own secret abomination under the rug.
If I can't fix something I will rather not attempt to deal with it. But the case is not for Christians, they have no plan of eradicating homosexuality, they even have no idea how its happened and all they can do is throw stones.

You know, I don't like the way you make your point, but you do have a point. We as christains know that homosexuality is an aberration, but there is no plan to deal with it. There are a few ministries that provide counselling though, but the average christain has no understanding what to do when confronted with a gay coworker or friend or classmate. I have listened to a naija pastor say that he had a gay coworker, and his response was to totally ignore him and stay out of his way so that he would not be polluted.
Wahala dey o. So while there is a choice problem for the gay person (as excellently defined by Sidney), there is also a moral problem for the rest of us as to how to treat them. Ignore them? Throw stones? Avoid them? Or show mercy and compassion? In my experience, too many people are not capable of it. Wahala dey o.
