Sounds interesting but I still couldn't figure out why he had to use improper English for the title..what the heck is 'She Hate Me', shouldn't there be an 's somewhere.

The main character in the movie had an ex girlfriend who is one of the lesbians he impregnates; she broke his heart when he found her sleeping with a girl the night before their wedding so he thinks she must hate him to do that to him so he started calling her "Shehateme." That's is where the title comes from...not that Michael Genet (the writer) wanted to miseducate the youth

Honestly, I'm not really a fan of Spike Lee movies. He's cool and I commend him for being an African American director, but honestly, his movies are whack. If he wants to win an Oscar or Golden Globe he has to do better than that. That's all I have to say about him.

I finally saw the movie today. WOW!!! It was great. This movie crosses many barriers. The movie wasn't only great, but political as well. As far as am concern, there was no bad scene in that whole movie, every shot in it tells a story. On a scale of 10, I’ll give this movie a 9.5. and that just because it was made by human, and human aren’t perfect. YALL GOTTA SEE IT!

Spike Lee is very well respected among his colleagues. He had many great movies out, athough he stays in drama genre. Nevertheless, he is a very good Black American Director. Almost every movie he directed gets nomination but as a black man do you think its very easy to break throught as a director in Hollywood? Check some of the awards he had got nominated for below. And on the second link check his movies, and each of them you can see differents nominations from casting to screenwriting.

Check Personal nominations

Check Spike Lee movies nominations by each movies.

Some of the good movies he had out is
Malcom X
25th Hour
Jungle Fever
He Got Game
She Gotta Have It
Do the right thing

Sirs, She Hate Me - if u follow black americans spoken street english, u find misplaced and scattered grammatical functions. Most times an "s" is always missing in their first person contineous verbs - hope i'm not talking to myself. I am a big fan of Spike Lee and as a cultural nationalist (Top Pro-Black) he involves such linguistic elements in his works. The Oscars and other so called awards are not for rebels like Spike Lee.

I think you're argument should have stopped at you not liking his movies. But to say he needs to do better for a Globe or Oscar win? Are you kidding me? He has been criminally overlooked in the past for great movies he made. Malcolm X? Mo Better Blues? Jungle Fever? CLockers? Get on the Bus? Do the Right thing? These were award winning efforts. I agree not all his movies are up to that standard, but he's certainly made a few that deserve at least a nomination.

But then again, you share the same taste as the people that do the voting, just that their lack of voting for him has more to do with color than it does with his ability to make a good movie. If you look at the history of the oscars...I can't even count up to three black directors that have been nominated for the award. Certainly no black director has ever won it, and the only nomination for a black director I can remember is John Singleton(the youngest[24yrs old] to ever be nominated for best director for Boyz N Da Hood)
