just watched this and it felt like I was watching something I have seen before.
It was a great film though. very well made, but it did not feel original at all. one scene was taken from pretty woman, the viagra mistake from a martin lawrence film film Chris Rock and a host of other black films.
shirleys best for me so far is A sting in a Tale.
she does not make anything original apart from that. seen too many akata movies I take it. the westernology is becoming too much.

I don't know quite what to make of this movie.

    Pros:

The script was very good. The acting from all the main characters was superb.
There were some very funny moments.

    Cons:
The setting felt, no I will say it...felt staged.I am sorry but lime green, neon orange and bright blue and yellow walls throughout the movie? My eyes became sensitive to the colors after a while. It was overdone. It looked like a toy house.

It was too.."perfect" Pebbles' hair for one. Looked like it had been done just for the movie. Not a hair out of place. The girl is great actor though. I liked the way her roommate looked. The brightly colored walls, one fake white blinking Christmas tree and that red sofa. Where did they get that thing? It didn't look like a home, it looked like the set of a photo shoot. A K-Mart photo shoot. I could just picture the models posing. Didn't have a homey feel to it AT ALL. That's unfortunate cause as I said, the acting was very good.

Once again, you wouldn't have known it was a Ghanaian movie. Not original at all. But kudos to the actors.

Okay just finished watching this...have a few gripes though...like why did they have to split it in two parts, the movie was short enough to fit on one dvd...don't know if it was Shirley's decision or the marketers but all this greediness go be the downfall of this industry.
My other complaint is about the sound EFX were kind of muffled, the gunshots and crashing that decor on dudes head.
But everything else I enjoyed, the actors played their roles well, even the supporting actors did a great job. I even liked the set, the vivd colors, you don't see that in a lot of African movies. Good story and screenplay. The special EFX at the end was superb. With each movie, Shirley keeps stepping up her game

Err...whats EFX? Some of us are a bit tech unsavvy.

You liked the vivid colors? I thought they looked a bit tacky. But different point of view anyway.

I liked the part where they were in bed and she says "I think you are too small...and he says...maybe because you're too big?" I was balling. The way he said it was hilarious.

Agreed, it should have been only one part. You could imagine my shock when the lady told me there a second DVD...Ten bucks!
