I hear a bunch of Nigerian movies borrow there stories from American films now and just transplant it to the Nigerian environment, with just a few name changes, etc. I have never seen any of these movies. For instance, I hear Set It Off is in Nigeria under another name. Is this true? Anyone know of this happening?

Most wanted was like SET IT OFF, same story line, but they looked for a way to spice it off......

And there's MY LOVE, it was titanic smashed up against Romeo and Juliet, I mean the rich guy put a watch in the poor guy's pocket, and it was just crazy all in all. CRAZY!!!!

Sisters on the run...How do you spell SISTER ACT finished up producer style. Girl turned good went to become a reverend sister, her sister's husband didnt like her, he killed his wife and pinned it on her, she was being chased by the cops. It was crazy.

I'd love to keep criticising but I cant!!!!!

They are all soo cheesy and corny. Why don't they just say remakes.Hollywood do remakes in huge numbers of european flicks these days too, sha.
But i don't think naija scriptwriters need to do remakes of hollywood,we have truckload of story sources to work on.

There's one that was a rip-off from GHOST( patrick swayze, demi moore and whoopi goldberg). Rhamsey noah, kate henshaw and segun arinze, papiluwe were in it. And let's not forget yogo pam pam, naija "money cant buy you love"( the damon and marlon wayans starred in it)

You would think those actors would know better, right? I mean they are big names. They should be more careful what they identify with.

Breaking new grounds need courage and a lot of these people just don't have balls.
They wanna stick to the cliche thinking that that is what sells, afraid to try new things, explore new genres. But that will change as new blood flow into the scene.:)
