u must be referring to the one with the senior citzens..they told her she thought she was all that because she is a star...lol

Raven has always been too dramatic (yep, exactly the word to use) for my likening. A friend of mine Caroline (RIP) disliked her from the Cosby show days but at that time I loved her and thought she was cute...but after the cosby show there was another show that she was in with that tall cute guy i love...cannot remember his name but I think that was the show with Holly Robinson and she was too much and all grown up while she was barely 10years old. It was quite annoying. I do not watch her show on nick but on lifetime tv, i just saw a pre-view of her in a new movie coming up on Monday.

yes that is the one with the senior citizens !!!!
and yes there is a movie about high school segregation at the prom !!
Ill try and watch it !!!

Excuse me Akos, I must be missing something here. Ummm, weren't we just talking about how black actors get typecast? So now the brother is breaking out to try something different, and your first impression is that it's laughable? I mean...what role would you prefer him to play in the movie? The gangbanging/knucklehead cadet...
all i am saying is he didnt pull me into his character, Call me critical, but personally ,, you have to pull me in to your character for me to believe it. I just didnt, but i am glad he was given the chance, I am not saying he should be typecasted to gang bang. He could play anything else, i dont care. Bottom line is make it believable.

Was Lou Gossett Believable in his role in Officer and Gentle man - hell yeah.
Was Tyrese believable - hell to the No. I tell it like it is.

Why do you think i love Genny so much, she pulls u into her character and make it believable. U understand whattamsaying.

I will, i like Tyrese and will support him with my $9.50:teu26: If i will support Sanaa this Friday - i will Tyrese too.

How did it do in the box office though.

Speaking of the Cosby girl- Tempest (Vanessa), wasn't she the host of a talk show once a couple of years back after her Cosby show years? I hear that just before the show got cancelled she embarrassed herself by pleading with the producers to give her another chance with the talk show. I hear it got so embarrassing that the director of the show kept avoiding as much as he could..hey guys what do you think of RAVEN SYMONE? I cannot stand her. She has always been an 11 years going onto thirty to me.

R u sure that was Tempest or Robin Givens talk show ???

You were on fire with that comment. Everyone but the naive can see that Hollywood is attempting to make a mockery of the black movie scene, with these nominations. That's why I don't even watch them anymore. It's all a bunch of crap. After all those brilliant movies Denzel has done in the past without winning ish, or in many cases not even getting nominated to win something; how in the hell are they gonna turn around and give him the win on a movie in where he's presented as a corrupt, foul mouthed cop, whom abuses his own people??

Now that was some F*ed up stuff right there. His performance in Glory was brilliant, and far beyond any other actor's in that year, and yet he won nothing, and then they turn around and give him the award for that crappy cop movie. Preposterous!! And then they had the audacity to go even further in making a spectacle out of the event by given Halley Berry an award for Monsters Ball; a movie in where she degradingly and tastelessly sexed up some old, ugly-***, Hillbilly looking fart, after all those other brilliant movies she's done in the past. rolleye:

It was one big nightmare come true for me, and an spit in the face, at best. And Cuba that Gooding crap was just stomach churning to even watch. First of all, that movie sucked a big one, and secondly, he's a total sell-out Tom!! And thirdly he acted like a freaking Buffoon when he won the award. Neither of those wins were Admirable achievements for the AfAM community, in that the image behind them were so corrupted and degrading. It was due to decades of sinister situations like this, that we AfAm have gone on ahead and created our own award shows.. The Oyibo ones are just too deceitful!! :eyes
Hmmm now that got me thinking-really what really good movie had she done before that debacle anyways...me thinks she was just the lucky poster girl for a black actress winning an oscar. This woman, Angela Bassett, now she should have won that year, they all knew it but hollywood was not quite ready yet to give an Oscar to whom it was due just cos the rightful recipient happens be black. So now when their minds are open enough to give an oscar to a black woman, they look around and aha! Halle is prolly the only one with a movie out that year and presto...:redface

:1244: go terrance, it's your bday we gon party like it's your bday:1244:

i love this guy right here luxlove: wish i was married to him too:teu26:
but you know what, good luck to him. i kidda doubt that he might win, it isn't like jamie that we all knew he had it...lets watch and see
blacks are doing their thing nowadays...

...go black ppl, it's our bday we gon party like it's our bday:1244:

Yep, Tempest from the Cosby show was in a talk show which use to run at 11am but I cannot remember what channel. I will not be surprised if it was UPN. I watched the show a couple of times. My heart kept beating for her as I knew the show was not going to last. And sure enough it didn't.
