Ok, i am probably going to say something that will annoy a lot of people....Bible thumpers...Just lemme to say my piece....

Tiger woods is an athlete.
Tiger Woods is not Jesus
Why do people say that he is no longer a role model...Afterall who gave a @#$% about his wife or kids before now...the reason why he got endorsements was because he was and still is the greatest golfer of our generation. People that expect him to be some kind of moral role model are delusional...I am sick and tired of all the major news network carrying this nonsense and sentimentalizing it....He cheated on his wife....Yes. But that does not remove or reduce from the fact that he is an amazing atlethe and i think that his endorsers that dropped him are acting upon sentiments.....who cares really?? 55% of all american marriages end in divorce!!
Now i am not saying that what he did was right....All i am saying is that...He is still an atlethe and the retarded lady on the radio saying she is boycotting tiger woods merchandise because she felt he was no longer a good role model is DElusional.....
Do you really Expect Paris Hilton to win a nobel prize in physics?!!! ...Jesus~!

He has been playing golf since he was a toddler ...so he never planned to be nobody's role model...anyone that wants to be like him is probably too late cos he started playing this sport before he could even make a choice ...he is a genious gifted child placed into a sport by his parent ..so I agree he isnt a typical American hero role model ...he just broke his vows ..prolly didnt know what it meant to be married thats all. I wonder how come all these ladies didnt leak the affairs sooner ...why now ??? I think some are lying ...the racist men that insulted him at the begining of his career might be behind the actions of some of these lying chicks !!

I think it is a shame that women are willing to come out and admit that they had an affair with another woman's husband!!....And its not like they were forced to....So much for Feminism.....

@Nike007 and Obariba thumbs up for your response up there!
By now, i would expect that America learnt a lesson with Bill Clinton-Monika Lewinsky scandal where Clinton did not loose his job because of a personal fault that the system probably knew about, but was not able to stop before he got to being president. The courts and proceedings then simply told the world, that Clintons performance on the job was solid and America was not voting in a pope to the white house when they did for William Jefferson clinton!! I am saying that Golf made Tigerwoods who he is in our eyes and he probably started balling around from teenage years.Maybe some people knew but said nothing because it was not relevant to the fact that here is a genious. Dude was able to keep that part of his life in wraps for a longtime because what mattered was that he played golf so well that he is just 4tournaments short of the best achievement(Jack Niklaus)in all time golf records. It is good to live the life of a role model and honestly, keeping to a vow motivates even people who observes from a distance but it is double standards to stop buying endorsed products bcos Tiger decides to live out his name in bed with a dozen chicks!
Funny as it is, FM's response to preferring traditional marriage which is with NO vow and probably better for some people rather than taking a vow and not keeping it,is apt. God and man frowns at it and we should locate our anger strictly on the fact that here is a guy who made a vow to a woman before God and man and so broke the vow that there is nothing to salvage!!
I want to see Tiger beat Jack Niklaus' record so Tiger should get professional help and return quick to his original talent Lol

I personally feel his been over flogged on the issue ....what has he done that is uncommon or unheard of.........and the yeye press instead of channeling their news to more important issues would prefer they run him down

It's because he is hiding... He should come out... Kobe was accused of rape and was on trial! But he came out, did the interview, took his media lumps, lost endorsements and played! He never stopped playing. He was called every name in the book at every venue he played in. But he manned up and took it... And he is now back stronger than ever...

If you want us to support you when things are good, you need to stand up and face us when things are bad. If he was opening a school or a golf course he would want the media to cover it abi? Now we should leave him alone because what? Come out! Don't only give interviews when you win or are giving accolades but then give me legal press releases on your website when shit hits the fan.. Take the good with the bad! Go and listen to what Tiger said Vick should have done when he was going through his problems. Tiger said Vick should come out and speak to the media and explain himself... Yet, he is not... He is a freaking hypocrite...

Tiger is f-ing b-tch! All this hiding.. So what, you slept with dozens of women? So? What's all the freaking hiding? It's because he wanted the world to believe this clean image because it makes him money! If not, he would come out and say exactly what you said. This is not something new that other people have not done. He didn't kill anyone, committed no real crime, so what's with all the controlled statements and the quitting golf... He is more sad about the money he will soon be losing...

I have no sympathy for his dumbazz. He couldn't even cheat properly or acted like this would never come out... He should simply be a man and own up and this would go away completely....

@Sidney, you captured it real tight with the notes above. Imagine what a better golfer he would be when he comes out straight, talk to the press, seek help and forgiveness from wifey if possible then, train like never before so that a comeback would send him even farther than his position now in the PGA tour. I agree that hiding is contributing to all the name calling even from people who probably did worse than he could have imagined. The shizzle is that he was so so dumb..imagine the test messages.. He should have taken tutorials from FM and nobody would ever catch him:1087:

I don't know why you all expect him to act differently. He's always been the reserved one and the media has always had issues with him because of that. He stayed off the radar, avoided interviews whenever his contracts did not require it, never provided more than was absolutely necessary. He's only bearing down now because bearing down is what he does. There are two approaches to solving the issues. Talk or ignore the hoopla. He chose the latter, and it can indeed work. The more boring he gets, the sooner the exploiters of other people's woes will leave him alone. They're dry already anyway, just milking it because some scandal equally huge hasn't risen to take his place. And that will in a matter of days...No be America?

This is not true! He was calculating in how much and which media he allowed into his life, but the key is this image he "had" was carefully crafted by him, his management and handlers. Ignoring the hoola has NEVEr worked. Name one, just one celebrity of Tiger's magnitude where it has worked. Name one... It doesn't...

No be America...

Come out and address the media. Whether through a press conference, Oprah, 20/20, Real Sport or anything. Or, play. Let your performance do the talking. These are the ONLY ways celebrities redeem themselves in the public eye... Name any other way that was successful. Name one... As an athlete, win a game, win a race, win a tournament. Either talk or go do well on your playing field. He is doing neither... Remember I said it, this will boil and fester till his first interview, golf tournament or press conference... This will not blow over... Until he plays or talks... And the first press conference or tournament will be a media frenzy the likes we haven't seen in a while He needs to get it over now.... It will not go away... Only after that purge... We are not talking about no talent people like Lohan or Kardashian, we are talking about the most popular, iconic athlete in the history of Golf and one of the most in the history of world sports! And you think just keeping silent will make all this go away?? Wow... The ostrich defense will not work here...

No be America...

He needs to either play or address the media with his actual face and not a website....

I don't agree he needs to talk, Sid, but PLAY he must. That I agree with. That decision makes no sense. Go win some competition, dude. The world has a short memory.

Maybe its only for a while...

I have said it before..
Look out, I smell fire..fdev:

Actually what you are saying..
Great post Sid..!

@highlighted. So my friend who's dad had 7 wives..
Actually, I've considered the basis of scientific proof for this. Notwithstanding, could it be possible that male chauvinistic and sexist behavior which affects women be genetically inherited from kingly ancestors?

@highlighted. So you want us to..
Good point.

KPOM!
The restraining of that freedom to..
Where's your evidence? Hypothesis??

King Solomon was the biggest fool..:rose:

You are talking about the average relationship outside..
Excellent Sifu..:sign0128:

Sifu, you are speaking..
True, but she most certainly can speak based on her personal experience.

Technically she isn't. It is a known fact for polygamous wives to find it difficult have to "share" their husband amongst each other, or to have to "take turns". Oprah herself did a show on this, although I don't recall it including women of African descent.

Your grandfather was a multi-instrumentalist. :)

Great post FM.

So what is right is..
FIGHT DA' POWER! :sign0080:

This long disertation
I agree, the post is lengthy, but be careful not to commit the very act you warn her of, by not allowing her to speak freely.

What a thread!
It's gone from..
Thanks to you Mr. Fire Starter..lol

Ok, i am probably going to say something that will..
Nike, it's all "BUSINESS" and "POLITICS", seasoned with the right amount of "IMAGE" to get your "MONEEYYYYYYY"..!

I think it is a shame that..
And the headline reads.."TODAY, FEMINISM TAKES A BACKSEAT TO FAST CASH!".

It's because he is..
I agree Siddo, he should just "Man Up" and stop being a "Punk B-tch"..lol

"IS BROOKLYN IN DA' MOTHA****** HOUSE!"

I don't agree he needs to..
This I agree with, in that he should continue to play. Retiring may have been smart, in an effort to redeem his "Public Image". He can always return to golf shortly, saying he was "persuaded" to come back and continue on his record-breaking course unhinged. Surely, statistics will show and prove that professional golf will not fair well without Woods; I myself only follow it because of him.

I agree he should have stayed playing(I'm not even going to watch gold till he returns).

But at this point in time, if he thinks that is the best decision he needs to make, then he should. He's already made the decision and it would look silly to backtrack almost immediately.

Whichever I sincerely hope things work out for him, his family and his fans.(Yup, we're important too.)

:fing24::fing24:...Thank you Sidney....He needs to grow a pair, find some testicular fortitude..Man up!!!!!!!!!!!!!...He's killed noone and broken noo laws.. , so why hide?????.....I remember the Michael Vick situation, Tiger needs to follow his own advice. He has to have the worst PR team any rich person ever had.. ray ray, and his boys up the street could have handled this better. When the accident happened, again Tiger KNEW exactly how liberal his paynus had been, so he should have been prepared to make a statement, those jumpoffs wouldn't have been able to keep the pot stirring. Why try to pay them off now?? I live in the DC area, and Michael Jordan made hoeing his pastime when he was with the Wizards...He also covered his tracks..Tiger was messy as heyull, and I think arrogance played a huge part. He never believed that anyone would take the word of a service worker over him....By not addressing it, he's only giving the Nancy Grace's ( who needs to get a dayum life) more fodder, because they can't imagine that a black man, who they resent because of his dominance, would cheat on the whitest white woman....in a huge way, and then have the nerve to be a billionaire AND the best at a sport that they know noone looking like Tiger should play. When the National Enquirer was about the do a story on Oprah smoking crack, she addressed it before they could?? They didn't make any money off the story, or crush the icon....shaking my head at his messiness.

When Nike, and the other companies start missing their cash cow, and when the Golfing world realizes just how boring the sport is without Tiger...watch out world!!!!!!!....I feel sorry for whoever is in a tournament with him when he decides to play again. He just got his negro wake-up call, so l expect him to completely obliterate his opponents with rage.

Exactly! This what annoys me about the whole thing. At the level in which he was operating with these women, he should have been ready to cover this tracks in case everything spills out... He treated all these jump offs like girlfriends! Then was cheap when it came to giving them money. What did he expect to happen?!?

Even they at first knew the deal. His arrogance must have made him think that just sleeping with him was enough for these women. But these women knew the deal. Be the jump off, and then always be taken care of! But no! Cheap azz Tiger never coughed up the dough, thinking he was enough. Dum-dum.... Now he is hiding. Ridiculous..

You know I didn't like Kobe at all when his situation happened, but over time I have grown to root for him. But now after watching the way Tiger is handling this, I have new found respect for Kobe. He manned up!! He manned up and face everyone! And look at where he is now. Back on top and better than ever! His jersey is the top selling NBA jersey.

This idea that Tiger doesn't need to face the media is terrible advice. This is if he wants to one day recover some his career and reputation. If he is deciding to simply fade away from golf and society, then not talking to the media makes sense... But if he wants to ever recover some of what he lost, he must talk! This is not negotiable. The American public does not take silence very well. Especially if you one day want them to support you, buy your products or root for you.

People from Charles Barkley to NYT columnist William Rhoden and other major Tiger supporters and friends, have all said publicly that this tactic is wrong if he ever wants to recover some of what he lost..

----------

"The great heavyweight champion Joe Louis said you can run but you can’t hide, and that is true. Woods cannot hide, not on his yacht, not inside his mansions. There comes a point when a celebrity athlete whose career has been built on global allure must return to center stage and face the music.

So, what should Woods say to a fan base led to believe — by inference of a sea of brilliant ad campaigns — that Woods is something he is not?

Simple truth delivered in person, scars and all"

"Time for Woods to Put a Face on the Apology" by WILLIAM C. RHODEN

------------

The main point is Tiger built his career on "global allure", he cannot simply slink away now... Deliver the truth in person and be done with it..

Exactly! This what..
Easier said than done! The rule doesn't necessarily apply to every sport. Kobe plays pro ball..Tiger plays GOLF! A sport dominated by white players and "white-dollar" endorsements. The "image" of a pro baller versus a pro golfer are light years apart. Although now, Tiger makes one wonder about other golfers; Vijay Singh perhaps? Tiger doesn't need sex therapy, he needs "cheap" rehab.

It applies to celebrity... Not the sport. Tiger's popularity was not within the normal demographics of Golf, but outside of it. Tiger has made $93 million in tour winnings, but is close to being a billionaire. Where do you think the other money is coming from? The normal Golf demographics? No! It is coming from the the immense popularity he has outside the sport.. Kobe is not a billionaire... Tiger almost is from a marginal sports with a historically narrow demographics of fans... That is because of his unprecedented cross appeal!

The sport is not dominated by white players, it is dominated by him! The sponsors are not making money from just the elite white fans, but from everywhere... Rich white people don't drive Buicks or drink Gaterade.. Golf ratings fall off the table when he is not playing. Do you think those ratings are coming from the normal Golf demographics? It is not.. It is coming from causal, non-white, less affluent populous that love Tiger. The sponsors and PGA tour all know this.. He is the dominate force in the industry as a whole.

Your argument is based as if Tiger is some normal regular sports person. He is not! He is the Jackie Robinson of Golf. The Oprah of Sports (in terms of money and power)... The Jim Brown of Golf.... He cannot run or hide.

No-one said it was going to easy. In fact it is going to be hard as hell. But he has to man up and simply go through it...
