Juliet Asante was Brenda Mensah all along before she travelled, then her cousion Ivie came to stand up for her at Oddysey(could that be Akorfa? The one that played Ivie). Ivie was the one around till Funlola came back. Brenda's long holiday had ended and so she returned and this time it wasnt the Juliet Asante we saw that left that came back, it was Funlola, a new twist which i know might have been unintentional. Maybe you missed those parts...
Oh ok, so Akorfa is Ivy Mensah , I get it now. I thought all along that Akorfa replaced Juliet Asante and then Funlola replaced Akorfa for the same role of Brenda Mensah.

I get it nowaction-s:

Yes. Funlola is the first replacement for the Brenda Mensah role. Akorfa was Ivie Mensah,Brenda's cousin who took over things at odyssey{in her exit) and managed like it was hers.

M-Net Launches Tinsel II

Abeg did anyone watch it? I havent been watching tv this week, kinda busy with stuffs and didnt know it would air, would look out for repeat this weekend, its now three times a week, can u beat that?

With its refreshed Afro-centric lifestyle series STUDIO 53 returning to DStv screens recently, and following on its ever-growing investment in the African film and TV industry, M-NET is gearing up for the launch of season two of its glamourous soap opera TINSEL.

With season one running 65 episodes and screening twice a week on M-Net, season two will offer even more to DStv viewers. Now running an impressive 156 episodes, TINSEL will be screened three times a week, every Monday to Wednesday at 21.00 CAT from June 1.

M-Net’s Africa Director Biola Adekanbi says TINSEL remains a key part of M-Net’s plans in Africa and that season two is going to open a new chapter for the series.

“Traditionally soap opera as a TV genre takes longer to entrench because producers have to include a wide cast and multiple angles up front and then play these out over a course of time. This is why the first season of a soap opera is so important, to set up the storyline and the characters. With TINSEL this groundwork has been successfully built, so M-Net felt confident producing a second season. We always intended to invest significantly in TINSEL and the new season is set to provide great new plotlines and all the unexpected drama that make soap operas so attractive to audiences.”

As season two gets underway, audiences can tune in for more of the intrigue, romance and drama that made season one a firm favourite with fans.

Once again, the action returns to Reel Studios where veteran movie mogul Fred Ade-Williams is battling illness and the control of his empire, which remains under threat from ambitious business rival, Brenda Nana Mensah.

But with the secret now revealed that Brenda is in fact Fred’s daughter from a previous relationship, how will Fred cope with the pressure of the new situation. Will the blood that binds them together help them to find common ground?

Or will Brenda, in her role as boss of Odyssey Pictures, continue to push for her company’s success at the expense of her father’s legacy?

Meanwhile Fred’s charming playboy son turned film executive Philip Ade-Williams must be feeling the heat…

Always desperate to flee the boardroom will his new sister’s sudden appearance and her natural ease in business, a role that Fred always wanted for Philip, result in more family drama? Restless, ambitious and with penchant for the finer things in life, Philip’s unpredictability and unhappiness makes him a dangerous enemy.

And while the boardroom battles rage, even love is in the firing line…

Reginald Okoh, hot-shot executive at Reel Studios, now finds his marriage on the line as his deceptions catch up with him. His attorney wife Amaka, furious to discover her husband’s relationship with his secretary Angela, stormed out on him, but as season one ended with Reginald’s shooting, can trouble bridge the gap between them?

Or will his attraction to Angela prove too strong to ignore?

Adding to the tension, another ‘mole’ at Reel Studios is betraying the company, infiltrating the business and selling its secrets…but will they be discovered?
And who would be willing to risk everything to take on such a devious plan?
Plus, with the bullet destined for him hitting Reginald instead, will Ziggy’s troubles turn deadly? It’s all happening on TINSEL this season!

Meanwhile, with season two of TINSEL well into production, Adekanbi has gone on to reveal that a great deal of time and resource has been invested into preparing for it.

“Before production commenced, M-Net hosted an intensive full cast and crew training session, aimed at refreshing the technical skills and the acting talent on the series. To date, the entire team has worked hard to deliver must-watch entertainment and M-Net is proud to see TINSEL back where it belongs…on screens and in homes across Africa.”

Returning to TINSEL in season two are the talented cast – Victor Olaotan (Fred), Gideon Okeke (Philip), Omar Shariff Captan (Reginald), Uzo Egeeonu (Amaka), Matilda Obaseki (Angela), Chris Attoh (Kwame), Kunle Coker (Ziggy), Gbenro Ajibade (Soji), Iyke Okechukwu (Chuks) and Damilola Adegbite (Telema) and introducing Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi as Brenda.

So get ready for TINSEL season two on M-Net every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 21:00 CAT. And for more information on the series or a sneak peek at what’s coming up in the next episode, log on to M-Net - WHERE MAGIC LIVES.

The level of acting in season 2 is appalling. Even the veterans like Funlola are reallly getting on my nerves, and its so "Days of Our Lives" now.

I still trya nd watch it small small sha, but always put it on mute when that chick they cast as Phillip's sister talks. As fake as acid rain

You call acid rain fake, Kinky? Hmm...
Sorry, I'm mixing up terms here(These environmental nuts would slay me)..I meant that artificially induced rain that arid countries like Isreal produces..wetin dem dey call am again. It adopts almost the same processes that produce acid rain, but its controlled.

Ok, she's as fake as Naomi Campbell's weave smokin:...How's that?:bouncy

am trying to grasp the concept of the soap but so far not to bad .... It reminds me of southafrican soaps

@underline are you referring to Monica ... I thought she was ok.... she featured in the movie 30 days

Funlola's acting is reminding me of Joke silva ...... her gesticulation , speech is just too similar to joke's ....am not very impress

Amaka is a very pretty lady.. her face looks familiar ,

I love the cast , especially femi branch(sp)

So when are they posting the new season

That's Ashionye Ugboh, that fake accent never drops even if you just wake her up from sleep.

Well Nkiri Alinta{30days) was Monica, all of a sudden Ashionye Ugboh started playing it,looks like she was recast. Ashionye was great in Doctor's Quaters, but in Tinsel i just cant stand her.

You dont have to be, the girl in 30days who was playing the "Monica" role has been replaced by "Ashionye Ugboh" and thats whom kikkis is complaining about. The 30days girl (Nkiru) is a good actress....
True. I haven't seen the new monica yet but if she's not as good as the old monica then too bad.
