We still do this? So if they accept the bride price returned, are they going to refund the years the lady spent with the man so that she becomes brand new? This is one of the questionable aspects of our culture abeg, and it was obviously designed by men to placate men. It should be scrapped. It looks like the lady sef was glad that it happened.

"Olakunle Churchill, the estranged husband of controversial Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, has finally fulfilled his threat of annulling his troubled marriage to his wife.

The publicity-loving entrepreneur, in company of his uncle, Bishop Dare, met with Tonto ‘s father, Sunny Dikeh, in Port Harcourt on Tuesday to retrieve the bride price.

Meanwhile, Tonto has celebrated the final dissolution of her marriage in an Instagram post which simply read, “The joy was indescribable.”" MORE

Among the Yorubas at least in my days the bride price thing was ONLY as a TOKEN Which was 1 pound 1 shilling which was then returned to the new couple after the ceremony. Now particularly among the Igbos it is a business .

Yeah, but we collect other monies that we keep. Owo iyawo ile, owo this and that...not to mention what the alagas do these days. At the end of the day, no difference. All business.

But at the end of the day The yorubas do not come back if the marriage do not work out to demand for Refund like you do when returning some defective microwave oven to HOME DEPOT.The yorubas like a lot of Owambe for sure ---show off wahala that's all.The Igbos take the Bride Price too seriously .
