nevermind.... If what you said make sense to you, that's all that matters.......
Kpom means I agree with you

The second is to further elaborate on the "level playing field" phrase to show that Serena will get what she will get with or without this video. People who will hate her will hate her and people who will like her will like her. Yeah she's removed the video because she does not want it out there and it is not because of the damage it will d to her career -because you just can't stop talent like her with a booty shaking video- but for her own dignity. If her career would be damaged by this video then let's wait and see -the video is out there.

Sorry couldn't disagree with you more..

Everyone, and I mean, everyone, in the business of marketing and public image worries about just that, image... No-one, I repeat, no-one says what will be will be as you said. No-one.. Even Jane Fonda is still paying for her image of sitting on a Vietnamese tank. Till today. She was quoted as saying, she wished she hadn't done it. Is she still not rich and famous? Yes. Did it hinder her from opportunities and movies she could have gotten? yes!!.... So she is worth 100 million... If she didn't make that mistake should could have been worth $150... Sure you can say she is still rich, but it also hurt her. For you and me, we may be like so! $100mill is a lot of money... For her, she might wish she didn't have a video out there.....

Serena's earning power will no longer be her tennis, but her products. Either her own or ones she hocks. Her image is tied to that ability.... Image, in that industry, is everything...

$100millie is what you call damage? But at the time Fonda sat on the tank she was not $100millie rich was she? The fact that she experienced growth in her career after that testifies to what i'm saying here. As for Serena, we both agree the field of play is not level which is the reason why I'm stating it will not affect her since they don't like her like that in the first place. Look, if Serena was white she would have been close to being a billionaire by now -that is richer than she is now- but we know that's not the case for her as some chick from Russia who has never won major tournies gets better endorsement and popularity than her. So because of this booty shaking video her career wwould not have a dent that was not already there. I mean the video is already out there, man.

You're post sincerely makes no sense. No-one said the video WILL damage her image. No-one. But to say she shouldn't care about it's impact is simply and abjectly stupid. Don't take offense, you are not stupid, but that point of view is...

Serena has more image consultants than you and I have fingers. Not one would say the ridiculousness you have posted. But it is NR and no-one on this earth is hiring you, or me for that matter, to manage their image. And you have right to your opinion no matter how misguided.

And I state this because if you have ever been in ONE, just ONE, image or marketing meeting it would be impossible for you to post what you did... Simply and utterly impossible.. Images for almost EVERY celebrity be it athlete, actor, entertainer and even reality TV stars are being carefully crafted as I type...

Leave the matter as it is clear you have no real point of reference. Its your gut opinion and you are entitled to it... We are just making noise here on NR and getting carpel tunnel, while Serena's people plot the course of her career... Carefully, with image in full sight...

Typical Naija yarns you are spewing there, Sidney. Exactly what is point of your subtle outburst? Let's not take it there, Sydney.

No where in my post can anyone read that Serena shouldn't care about the impact on her image, all I have stated was that nothing will happen to her. The video is out there somewhere and if they want to harm her they can do that successfully -that shouldn't be too much to grasp. Your reference to Fonda is baseless as I have proven that to you already so why not just agree that on this issue you have no authority to predict what is going to happen to her career.

Again NO-ONE predicted ANYTHING would happen to her career! It like you are reading something from your own mind and not from this forum.

I mentioned Fonda as she mentioned, that although she is successful, she could have been EVEN more so if she didn't go to Vietnam! HER WORDS!!! Not mine... So even though she is worth $100 million, she could have been worth $150, $200 million.. To her, SHE WAS AFFECTED.... AGAIN HER WORDS!! Good grief.... Is this really too difficult to understand??

If you would make $100,000 less than you're already $300,000 salary because of some picture or video, wouldn't you be concerned?? A person who makes $5,000 would wonder what you are talking about. You are successful to them since you make such a large income. But to you, an opportunity was missed... That is all anyone is saying here.... Serena will MOST DEFINITELY worry about videos, pictures or anything that could ultimately affect the level of the future successes....

Good lord....

I re-read the whole thread again and nowhere did I or ANYONE say Serena would DEFINITELY be affected! No-where!!! Someone mentioned that she didn't need to worry about her image. I said she should be concerned with her image because all her future endeavors, outside of tennis, are tied to image...

I'd appreciate if you just READ the thread thoroughly before commenting..
