Abeg my NR peeps, shay na only me find it disturbing labeling naija actors. I mean though some of them try to be diverse in the roles they play, but the monotonous nature of their roles can be annoying and detrimental to their career.
Take for instance, Ihave gotten used ( I can't say about yall ) to concluding that if Genny, Ramsey, Jim Iyke or Emeka( I can't remember his last name) om the poster of a movie, then it has to be a love (or any thing that has to do with romance ) movie.

Abi I lie.
I wan hear una take.

100% True for Ramsey, 95% for Genny but...

I have seen movies in which Emeka Ike plays other roles like Peace Maker, Executive robbers, My Uncle( i hope that is the title) and if its Emeka Enyiocha you mean then love is not his portion in movies @ all @ all.

Jim Iyke too ... yeah 96%. if he is not a yakee wannabe husband-to-be who is later rejected.

then he is the real lover, .@ least his love roles vary...

He may not be used to love, but finds himself in a well built love-web as in ARRESTED BY LOVE.

He loses someone he loves because he is so violent as in MY SWEETHEART. etc

Trying hard to get as in VIRGIN's NIGHT OUT etc.

BUT RAMSEY's LOVE ROLES most of the time THE SAME:
That of a poor sincere lover going through fire to get married.
That of a rich guy marrying someone below his social status. REAL LOVE, SUPER LOVE etc...

I really think they should change it too. A actor/ actress is good if he/she can act various part and not just one particular part in all movies. Most especially Ramsey Noah

U NO LIE O!....BETI NA PRODUCERS FAULT ABI MARKETERS MESLEF NO KNOW AGAIN..BUT NOBODY WANNA INVEST THEIR MONEY TO START SOMETHING NEW, BUT ONCE SOMEBODY DOES IT AND IT PAYS OFF...EVERYBODY ELSE JUMPS INTO THE BANDWAGON..... IT GOES LIKE THIS....

1. FIRST IT WAS RITUALS
2. EPICS (IGODO, & CO)
3. THEN CHURCH
4. COMEDY
5. ITS NOW LOVE

ONCE A LOVE MOVIE MADE A BIG HIT....EVERYBODY STARTED DOING LOVE STORIES AND THE CENSORS BOARD WAS KINDA ENCOURAGING IT BECAUSE THEY ARE HAPPY THE RITUAL MOVIES HAS STOPPED (WHICH THEY KINDA HELPED IN KILLING CAUSE TO THEM ITS GIVING NAIJA A BAD IMAGE, NOT MIDING THE FACT THAT ITS SOMETHING HAPPENING EVERYDAY...AND WHAT DO WE HAVE THIS MINUTE IN NIGERIA?????? THE OKIJA SHRINE SAGA WITH SO MANY HUMAN SKULLS)
ANYWAY PEEPS ARE NOW GETTING BORED WITH THE LOVE STORY....SO WHATS GON BE THE NEXT TREND? THEY MIGHT GO BACK TO EPIC....

We are so used to these pple in love movies that it becomes boring Then my take is will they be that good if they switch to other roles than what they are famous for?

i've been saying it, our actors are just typecast in these roles and it's difficult to get them out.
somehow I think that these actors/actresses should just say "No! do you have something else for me to act as?" but then again, they've got many mouths to feed so this willnot be an option sha.
But with this "ban/blacklisting" i'm interested in seeing who is being groomed to take over the loverboy roles and stuff.

Since the release of END OF MONEY, cometh Desperate Bollionaire, Blood Bollionaire, Ocult Kingdom.

U wouldn't really blame them, its actually what is happening in the society 2day.love, love, love and heart breaks. The only thing I'm not comfortable with is the stereo-typed way of making same actors/actress act same roles. They should diversify their acting roles, not making us expect same reactions to situations when delivering their roles.

i believe this trend is directly from the producers or do i say the writers of the story.what am i saying, there is no story.no script.something just pops out of someone's head and they turn it onto a film using the readily available actor/actress.
the scriptwriters and producers need to be challenged

Girl i agree with you but i think genny now is changing her roles in movies in a sense that she wants to take on roles that challenge her as a person and not roles that become predictable like your saying back then it was all about love it even came to the stage where you buy the film and those stars only make cameo appearances. I did have a problem with that and im glad you brought up this topic, as per ramsey yes i think his roles are more lovey dovey or player roles. Jim's own annoys me sef
