How does someone return from the Grammy's in LA and die in Lagos within 24 hours????
This is really sad if it is true!!

Her manager tweets that she is dead, and I wonder why the news was tweeted so fast! Some people are wondering of they were too eager to announce her dead???

And some other people are saying she is still alive!
One doesnt even know whether to say Rest in Peace YET?

If this is true , it is sad! Just 28 years? With her whole life ahead of her??? Life is really too short!

I dont really know her songs, but I have always loved her sense of dressing!

Hmmmm...... I pray this is a hoax!

I just read this on Linda Ikeji's blog. Though I'm not familiar with her work, her name has buzzed around my ear quite a bit.Very sad!

Nah Naija we dey talk about here..e go take at least 48 hrs for them to get their heads out their ass. So many conflicting stories...how hard is it to tell if someone is dead or alive?

Kennis Music has issued a Press Release, so, I guess it is true indeed! May her soul rest in peace! I never met her, don't even know her songs, but her dress sense always impressed me!!!

“On behalf of Kennis Music, I’m sad to officially confirm the shocking and untimely passage of Nigeria’s pop star, Goldie Harvey. With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey.

Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache at her Park View residence shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed to her official hospital, Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance Goldie passed away, the abundance of talent she has exhibited in her but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her. She is survived by her father, step- mother, brothers and sisters. We deeply sympathize with her family and fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially, the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage. We shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are still devastated by the sudden loss.”

Meanwhile, the remains of Goldie, who hails from Ekiti State has been deposited in the mortuary of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos. Goldie represented Nigeria at the Big Brother Star Game in 2012. Her latest effort, she described as three nawti singles from her forthcoming African Invasion album are “Skibo”. “Miliki” and ” Got To Have It,” are presently enjoying heavy rotations on radio and TV stations across the continent. Burial arrangements will be announced by the family. May her soul rest in peace.

She will be greatly missed! Rest In Peace!

I see her and Denrele as Fashion Stars! They always get it right in my book!

This is sooooo sad! We all take life for granted when any of us can be dead in a second, NEVER again to smell the roses! never again to bicker or fight with others! Who knows what her last moments were before this! How could she ever have imagined that she would return from Grammys and wont live to post all the pictures on her phone, talk to her friends about it, share with her family all the gifts she shopped for them etc!

We all really must be more careful how we live! We all ought to start living like today might be our last day on earth! This is indeed scary!
When you picture in your mind that this lovely singer, this beautiful body, this glamorous girl, in a couple fo weeks would turn to ashes! DEATH!

I suspect DVT and a blood clot. Heard she complained of headache before she died.
A friend's sister died like that last year after she returned from a journey doing SA, London, US, London and SA in a week.

I think so too. Aneurysm or one of those instant killers!

I hope naija people dont start saying it is juju! There are so many medical reasons that can be the cause. For one, is she on any type of medicine? Prescription or non-prescription. did she take the alcohol on board, or did she eat any food she has an allergy to [she may not have known of]??? so many questions. please I hope they do an autopsy and tell us exactly what happened! That would go a long way to preventing this type of sudden death in future!

So sad about her demise. Makes you realize how short life truly is, today we live, tomorrow we leave. I'll stop bothering myself about not having this or having that, i'll treasure each moment because no one knows what tomorrow holds. We only pray that God keeps us long enough to fulfill our dreams and aspirations. May God give her family, friends and loved ones the strength to bear the huge loss and also to survive this difficult period. RIP the Golden one.

Don't know her but have seen pics of her before. Death is really a sad thing. May her soul RIP and may God comfort her family and friends!

You truly come to a place of rest if you believe and live the bolded. I did after I lost my friends. It also changes what's important to you.

According to the autopsy report Goldie died of died of hypertensive heart disease which triggered intracerebellar haemorrhage. She had high blood pressure and was not taking any medication. The heart disease caused bleeding in her brain
