IF NIGERIANS IN THE WEST (ESPECIALLY IN THE US) ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORTS IT, IT WILL EVEN GET BIGGER AND BETTER. STRANGE ENOUGH YOU SEE A LOT OF NIGERIA YOUTHS (IN THE US) COMPARING IT TO HOLLYWOOD MOVIES AND PUTTING IT DOWN. INSTEAD OF THEM TO GET ACQUAINTED TO IT, STUDY IT, KNOW THE PROBLEMS THEY FACE AND SUPPORT IT. YET NIGERIAN MOVIES HAS TAKEN NIGERIA TO PLACES FAR BEYOND OUR IMAGINATION. THE OTHER DAY I WAS WATCHING A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT NIGERIAN MOVIES ON GERMAN T.V. I KNOW THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING WE WILL DEFINITELY GET THERE.

I hear you, but the thing is even in Nigeria, we find Nigerians telling us that amazing movies are whack...The movie industry is trying to cater to two groups at once, the Nigerians that want to see whacked acting and fake american accents, and then those overseas that want to see Nigeria the way they left it....Life sux don it....
The funny thing is, Nigerian movies are all over the world. I mean I gat people from Jamaica giving me Nigerian movies to watch. CRAZY HUH

There are people who do not want the industry to succeed and they will always shoot it down,no matter what kind of quality comes out of it.But fortunately,these people are in the minority and we don't have to worry about them.
The stakeholders should just continue to do the job and improve the industry to make it bigger and bigger.
I predict this industry to overtake the oil sector in the not too distant future.A time will come when it will get so big that the govt will no longer be able to ignore it.
But we have a role to play, especially Nigerians in the Diaspora. We have to learn to buy these movies from legitimate retailers who make returns to the boys back home.
It is also important to BUY these movies as often as possible, not just borrow from friends - or burn for friends, because that is piracy!

On the real!!! I think the answer is THEATRES!!!!!! Yeah so people think they have busy lives and ish, but analyze it with me, all them university students and young adults want to be americanized or whatever they call it. They want romance in their relationships, you open cinema houses for them, they go in to watch American movies, you preview Nigerian movies also playing in those theatres, its like sending out subliminal messages, telling them to watch Nigerian movies as well as foreign ones......
Legitimate video clubs would also work well......But telling people not to borrow movies is just interesting, Why would people want to pile up movies in their homes?????? I have a whole storage area full of Nigerian movies most of which I've only seen once....Thats like 350 X lets see...7 boxes, each containing like 35 videos. I cant even do the maths.

Well, mamarita, that's why I said as often as possible. It would be most unrealistic to have you buy every time you have to watch. You will do some borrowing, some exchanging, but you already buy anyway, so you're already doing what I ask, supporting the industry. That message is for others, NOT YOU! LOL!

Watching a movie on a 20 metres or so wide screen is an experience that no television set can match and that is the point here.If naija movies want to really hit home,then cinema is the thing,to give people an experience.An unforgettable experience.We don't have to shoot celluloid to project on the big screen,you know.That experience is just missing.
